I know in my area that some AHMC hospitals offer but some are like 12 weeks preceptor while others are courses. Anaheim Regional Medical Center offers courses, CHOC, CHLA, Global Medical Center, Long Beach Memorial but all of their Memorial Care facilities do, Tenet facilities do too. Also USC/Keck, USC/LAC I heard does but it's county so I'm not sure on that. I don't think St Joseph's does anymore but their sister facilities do.

My licensing attorney had said it is better to disclose than have them find out and decline you because the will see it as dishonest and that you are hiding something. Honestly it is highly unlikely that they would deny you for such an old infraction that you did the diversion program for. But they very well likely would deny you for hiding it and being in their eyes "sneaky" or "dishonest" about your past.

I want to apply but I'm so fricking confused at my facility score. I graduated in May and just started at a Dialysis center in a critical shortage area but can't figure out my facility score. Ughck. I'm also confused as to if I qualify to even apply given I am just starting there.

So I was hired as a LVN doing QA at a hospice. Previously I was a Case Manager. They hired me knowing I just graduated the RN program and by the end of the year I would have taken my RN boards. Well I took them and passed, yay! But now how to ask about pay... I just hit my 90 days and am still being paid the LVN wage which is much lower than a RN wage. My Director is a RN and does not work in the office full time but has relocated to NY for a year. She hasn't been in to ask but I'm not even sure how to ask. I figured my 90 Day then I would ask about wage adjustment since I was hired as a LVN to replace a RN. Seems they counted on me to get my RN, shouldnt I be paid more now? How do I go about asking? Email vs in person which would require waiting for her to be in the office which only happens rarely.

generally a nursing license attorney. There are quite a few different types of attorneys you could contact about your issue obtaining a license. All depends on your infraction and your response from the Nursing Board. I had an infraction and unlike a previous poster who said expect a year minimum wait and tons of $$$, I only had to wait a few extra months and probably did not need an attorney but I chose to seek counsel before hand to assure I have everything completed appropriately and in the correct manner. My fees were minimal compared to many others

I obtained a nursing attorney solely for making sure I had everything g together and was ready to apply. My very discounted rate only got me the office compiling my items and emailing me a request for additional or asking me to revise something. According to the attorney my infraction was not a big deal and it actually ended up not being an issue but took longer to process me. My attorney said for DUIs or other "endangering" offenses those are the worst since you put others in danger. He said make sure you are off probation, you paid everything you owe, preferably off probation early, preferably dismissed the charges, show you are an active member in your community (crap ton of volunteer work ideally some in the area you offended like drug arrest -> volunteer with at risk youth), get letters from anyone and everyone saying you are a good person. Letters from your faculty is IDEAL once you are getting ready to apply. He said many times older DUIs the applying nurse ends up not even having an issue. Pretty much just show that you have grown up from the experience and would never consider doing something so dumb again. I'm now officially a RN after 18yrs of struggling to obtain it! No restrictions or anything. No issues. But mine was a red light camera traffic infraction.

They can be EXTREMELY difficult to get. Many times I see it is all about who you know. I have done my CNS/LVN/ADN and each one had a mention or "undertone" of don't piss of the clinical site or we could easily lose the site! I was in the first cohort of a new ADN program so I watched the sites all of a sudden change over night. I have a couple Dr friends who offered up a clinical site at their wound clinics to help with some experience. My program declined them stating they needed legitimate hospitals, both are within hospitals. I didn't bother to clarify since their attitude about my friends offers offended me. Another student had a great hookup for Kaiser but they were kinda rude to her when she brought it up

University of Texas at Arlington offers an accelerated online only ADN to BSN for $9,000. I'm confused though on the fact your coworker is an ADN new grad but works as a LPN which aren't the same at all. Until Wednesdays of last week I was a LVN(LPN) and now am a ADN RN. I'm doing UTA since it's cheap at $9k and you are done in 9 months.

They do stay on your record but after 5yrs they want your sciences repeated since they are considered "outdated" but some schools if you did the sciences at their school they'll accept it for 7-10yrs. Thats here in California

Most of the private ADN/ASN schools phased out and went to BSN so there generally isn't many private options here unless you're willing to spend over $100K. After 12yrs I finally did private. Most schools around here don't do a waitlist anymore and have you reapply every application period so your pre-requisites expire. Schools that waitlist your pre-reqs go based off when you applied. But I also lose points for having done my sciences repeatedly even though I aced them each time.

Everyone's assumptions that the OP was too stupid to look into the educational options is just ridiculous and infuriating. Is everyone else completely ignoring the fact that the cost of an education varies greatly across our country and the impaction of the various nursing schools in each given area is greatly different! Yeah that is not always the case whatsoever. You are completely assuming that your area's schooling is the same across the country which IT IS NOT, far from it. I did my LVN since my RN pre-requisites were expiring. When I finally went to a private it was because I just had to redo my perquisites yet again and it wasn't even the second time. It took me 12 years to finally bite the bullet and do private school, which I did pick the cheapest one which still costs $65K for an ADN. Slow down? What wait 25yrs instead of 12yrs? 12 years didn't save me anything, if you do the basic math it COST ME MONEY! Gotta have it right now? Yep that 12 years was instant! You assume that everyone who has these high student loans is too stupid to have looked at all their options. It is completely asinine. The education options and the volume of students attempting to attend completely varies even from one side of a state to the other side let alone across this huge country. Heck back home in Alaska there is TWO NURSING SCHOOLS!!!! Not just private vs public, only two schools! Yeah if I moved home before I did my RN then I would be even worse off. I heard they finally were getting ONE PRIVATE RN SCHOOL. So really the AK prospective nursing students aren't intelligent enough to look at all the options? Or they just want that instant quick fast track education? No! They want their RN finally and probably have been waiting forever to get into the only school around them. Oh and lets not even go into the fact that the only two not for profit nursing schools are FIVE HOURS away from the each other so if someone doesn't get into one school they are screwed and not getting their RN unless they relocate which generally is not an option for many people given many need to live at home to be able to afford to go to school or live with their spouse and children. Or maybe their spouse can't find work in the one other city with a nursing program. But I guess if they just slow down some it'll happen

Ok I think I misread what you wrote. The OP had their ADN and just graduated with their BSN. I thought you meant if they had been a LVN. I am an LVN but just graduated with my ADN and waiting to take my boards. The link you looked at I THINK is for Scholarships not the Loan Repayment.
