WGU -When is the HW/Assignments Due?
Is there a thread that explains how the program itself works in regards doing classes? Do you typically take one class at a time at your own pace and then go to another one when you are done with one or can do you do multiple classes at once?

WGU -When is the HW/Assignments Due?
I am curious, I am wondering when WGU homework assignments are typically due? I plan to join WGU and I spoke to my Director and Charge Nurse how it would be better for me to have a set schedule so I can have time to do homework/assignments and definitely want to base it on when everything is due in WGU.

Mosby's Drug Book! & honestly, only YOU can tell what you need. If you can answer questions without doubting your knowledge, get questions but if you are struggling with info then you need to review!

Sorry for the late reply. I have been working and have been busy! How did you do?~

Struggling
You need to ask yourself what you think is missing. If anything, find a tutor or old instructor. The way I look at it, you have several questions you need to ask. 1) Do I know my content as well as I should? If yes, do not focus on this much. If not, KNOW YOUR CONTENT. You cannot read something and highlight and blindly think you will know it. Ask yourself what something is. Teach it to someone and they can understand you, you got it down. 2)How are you answering these questions? Are you choosing the BEST answers and getting at least 60-70% right? If you can, answer many questions and make sure you are getting most of them right. I did 5000+ before I took NCLEX. 3) Do I know how to pick the BEST answer? If not, know your test-taking strategies! 4) Do I get anxiety which can cloud my judgement? Find ways to de-stress if so! I wish you the best of luck.

NCLEX: Remember the time when...
I had 75 and the ones that stood out to me without giving away was how to perform something that was pretty easy because I thought all the questions would be hard AND that most of my questions were priority/most important questions.

To pay for hurst... or not?
It never hurts to try and it may be helpful! I loved Hurst to be honest. But if you feel like you are good for content, don't take it. If you are close to someone who is taking it...maybe ask for their notes or for them to teach you?

Taking my 3rd NCLEX RN on May 6th
I kind of what to debunk this. Doesn't matter what type of questions they are. Just answer the questions individually the best you can. I only got 5-6 SATA and passed with 75. I event got simple "content" questions and that freaked out about it 'cause I thought I was failing. So whoever is reading this, THE NUMBER OF SATA DOES NOT MATTER! Answer ALL questions the best you can like your life depended on it, ha.

Studying for Boards
My friend purchased Hurst and NCSBN! They do content but in different ways. It really is put to you. I have friends who passed just using NCSBN and friends who mainly used Hurst [: just utilize them the best you can!

new graduate
How are you in content? How are you in answering questions? Do you have test-taking strategies when picking the best answer or the logic to back up your answers?

Hurst Review Opinion?
I LOVED the Kaplan Qbank/Trainers for critical thinking questions and test-taking strategies to help pick the BEST answer.
-
Hurst Review
Yes! That is the one! I really liked it! But I also made sure to focus on the prefix-suffix of common medications their common side effects AND adverse effects.
-
Hurst Review
I used both. I really don't think I could have passed without one or the other. Hurst taught me content and Kaplan taught me how to critically think and use test-taking strategies to pick the best answer. & thank you! GOOD LUCK TO YOU
-
How do you study for the NCLEX?
Oh yeah, of course pray every day and every second you can. Put all your faith into God AND yourself but work hard to achieve in passing!
-
Hurst Review
LOVED Hurst. I knew i was weak on content and Hurst gave me that strength. I wish they would go in depth with other diseases but majority of the stuff I got from Hurst was on my NCLEX which is lucky for me. Passed with 75 questions Most my friends who took Hurst so far has passed but Hurst didn't really focus too much on medications. Just be sure to cover the things Hurst doesn't.

Nclex's result in California. 75 questions
I know you have to wait a couple weeks since California does NOT participate in Quick Results. You can pass or fail 75 questions. The test determines if you met minimum competency or you did poorly and cut you off at 75. Have you tried the PVT trick?

Kaplan and NCSBN performance
The main ones, yes. Even the major medications because majority of my SATA were medications but they were pretty common. Honestly, it is best to know most of everything than nothing at all. For SATA, usually all the answers relate to each other. JUST BE SURE TO READ THE QUESTION. What I like to do tis read the question and read the first option and ask myself is that true or not. I pick my answer then do that again with the second option - I read the question and the second option and ask myself again, is this answering the question? I wish you endless luck!
