depending on your state, alot of the classes can be done online, however depending on the insitution and the type of nursing program, could require labs done at the college. anatomy and pysiology sometimes have required labs, you can sometime take them together, but they do not transfer like they do if you take them seperate. If you take them seperate, then you usually have to do labs that are at the school, a couple times a week. Microbiology is the same way. Introduction to and developmental psycology can be done online. Nutrition can be done online. English comp 1 and 2 can be done online, if math is required in your program it is not suggested to do it online. Politics and history can be done online. And depending on the program you go to, you might be required to take additional sciences that I did not list. Medical terminology can be done online as well. You want to pick a school that is in your state of residency, because the cost of tuition is to high for out of state residents, so look for a college that has a good distance learning program where you file your taxes. I know it all sounds confusing, but once you put it all together and go through what you need, it is really simple. After that, you cannot do all the classes online, and you would need to be in one place to complet the 4 semesters of nursing, give or take depending on the college. Remember, associate degrees are not two years they are about three if you do not have to take any 0 level classes. However, some younger students only take two years because they have integrated prereqs into high school curriculum. Hi, I just started the nursing program and finished up my first week. During the first week, alot of focus was put on not judging others, gossiping, tolerance, and supporting fellow students, even if you do not like them personally. In addition, this is my first time comming onto this website and into the nursing student area. Reading the compaints of other students bothers me, because the compaints are just personal opinions of other peoples faults, with no factual basis, in plane since, it is just griping about people and not being understanding and looking at things from other perspectives and not just your own. Anyhow it is dissapointing, I know things are stressful, life is stressful, nursing school can be stressful, but taking your frustration out by bad mouthing fellow students is the wrong way of doing it.

I agree with you about the comment referring to kids, your family is just as important as hers, I think alot of it has to do with people thinking christmas is all about kids, and its not, its what humans made it to be, Christmas was originated from Jesus's Birthday, we give gifts as a symbol of how Jesus recieved gifts on his Birthday, Santa, reindeer, there really fun. But Christmas was meant for people to join together and remember Jesus's Birthday and spend time with family and friends, Every family..not just the ones with kids, Anyhow... Hi, I am Suzanne and i want to be a nurse, I am not a nurse, a year ago I applied to a technical school to go for a lpn, and did not make it in. It upset me and I forgot about my passion to be a nurse, the last two months I am on it again, thinking, oh yes, I can do it, who cares if I only have a GED, who cares if I have to pay cash for the whole thing, who cares, my husband is in the military, low rank, and we live pay check to pay check, to be able to pay for it will be an effort not known to man...lol Anyhow, we will finnally be in a town for at least three years without moving, I can take out a small school loan but i dont want to take out alot, I will not get any assistance from anywhere but our own pocket, cuz, I do not have kids, so.....my question is, is it hard, the school i mean, I know from my spelling it might seem that I am a little illiterate, but I am not, I am about a B student, I was forced to drop out of school when I was sixteen, on my own ever since, going to college would be the biggest step I ever took, but....I am a little scared to leap, to get turned down by a director again, ugh, last time I cried for a week, I have been told my whole life by people, that I would never make it, My problem, Im scared of flunking out, and of having loans I cannot pay back, I need advice if anyone can help, If I go to nursing school it will be in the state of california next fall.
