Failed NCLEX - need advice
I passed my NCLEX in 75 questions on my first attempt and firmly believe that I would not have passed had it not been for me taking the hurst review. I took the hurst live review lecture in March and then retook the live review (you get a free repeat) a few weeks prior to me taking the NCLEX. In between the two, I studied a chapter or so from time to time and made sure I really understood the content before moving forward to a different chapter. I also recorded myself reading the book out loud and listened to it when laying out by the pool or on long car rides. I'm a HUGE auditory learner so by listening to it, it really helped me zone in on the content. I took the q reviews the week before my test and was scoring average. Some were above the recommended average and I had a few that were below. They do a great job at zoning in on important content and teach it in a way that is easy to remember. I suffered from severe test taking anxiety all throughout nursing school and when taking the NCLEX but using the hurst strategies, it allowed me to breath and take my time. Not everyone feels the same about hurst, some people even disliked it and felt it didn't prepare them but I would recommend it to anyone who asks me and I definitley think you should give it a go. They even offer a refund if you do not pass the exam after taking their review.

I should also add that I grew up in the Houston area and while it is a wonderful city as well, I had no desire to go back. I definitley recommend visiting both in order to see which one you prefer. They are very similar but also very different in so many ways.

I went to TCU for my education and had clinicals all throughout the Fort Worth hospital district. I will be working at Texas Health Fort Worth as a resident and start in about a week. I absolutely love it here. Fort Worth is amazing and has everything you could ever want for a city, in my opinion. The hospital itself is also fantastic. I'm so excited to be working for them. Everyone I have met and talked to is super welcoming. If you have any specific questions, feel free to shoot me a message!

I took 80 questions is that bad?
I took my test on the 18th and felt exactly how you felt. I shut off at 75 and didn't even make it out of the testing center before bursting into tears. I was like you and tried the PVT trick and got the good pop up and I officially got my quick results yesterday and passed! I know the people say that PVT isn't entirely accurate but for me and for a lot of others who tried the trick and got the "good" pop-up it has worked. So take a deep breathe and your results will be here soon! Good luck!

Took NCLEX today... EEK!!!
I took mine today as well. It shut off at 75. I am getting the good pop up too. Fingers crossed it is accurate. I cried when leaving the test center. Literally felt like I knew a total of 10 out of the 75 answers. Over half of my test was SATA. This waiting game is terrible!

I will be starting the Versant Residency for the NICU at Harris Methodist in July! Yay THR! As far as when applications will be released for spring, you can go on the versant residency page and set up a "Job Alert" email notification. I did this and was able to keep my eye out for applications through my email. It will notify you when new postings are made available. I know they will open up application to internal candidates first and then external once they see what positions they have left. They post a lot later than some of the other hospitals as well or at least it felt that way to me.

Did anybody receive a call from the McLane NICU managers yet? Still wondering if they have tried contacting people. I'm still waiting to hear back from Float Pool but curious to see about the NICU.

Does anyone know much about the Temple area? If I get the position, I would be transitioning from living in Fort Worth the past few years and the thought of moving to a new town where I don't know a single person is slightly terrifying!!
