  1. I figured it out. Made a FB group for anyone wanting to join https://www.facebook.com/groups/1123742781759639
  2. Absolutely! Someone want to take care of that? I'm not very savvy with FB.
  3. Ooops! I meant that comment for @9a786 because we were joking about that earlier. But I'm soooo happy for us....cause I just got my email too!! We're going to be classmates!
  4. You contacted that admissions office didn't you?! Haha, jk. Congratulations! Still waiting on my end. Congratulations!!
  5. I have to admit, I was super late on getting my application in. I’ve not have to wait as long as many of the other applicants here but it is definitely stressful! Keep us posted when you hear something!
  6. Nope. I’m impatiently refreshing my email every hour as if my phone isn’t working. LOL.
  7. No, not yet. It seems the BSN-DNP applicants are the ones being notified right now but I've also read that notifications can be quite random too. Fingers crossed we hear something today because I really don't want to wait over the weekend! Congratulations to everyone that has gotten in!
  8. Hi everyone. Had my interview today. It went really well. Just giving an update. She said I was the last one to interview that she is aware of. I asked how many spots were available for the post cert program and she said that there is 28, maybe a few more as the school wants them to take more. So maybe around 30. Said decisions should have been out mid March but now likely end of March. Good luck to everyone!
  9. Thank you! Hopefully we will be classmates together! Still waiting to hear back from the admissions office about faculty availability for the interview as it seems that there are no faculty that have interview time slots listed. So, the lady I spoke with will be needing to reach out to the faculty to check their availability. I'll keep you posted.
  10. Hey guys. Just an update, was notified today that they would like to interview me for the post cert program. Seems fairly fast given my application was completed just last week. The are requesting I schedule it ASAP, so I'm assuming that they may be trying to finalize things very soon. I'll keep you all posted!
  11. Hey. No, not yet. Will hopefully hear something back soon. I'm not a big fan of NursingCas at this point, LOL. The JHU staff has been very nice and reaching out often to reassure me that my application will be reviewed and considered. I just hope it's not too late given my application was submitted much later than others given the first deadline was in November and then January. But it's OK, life happens, not going to stress about it. Hope you all hear something very soon. The waiting can be agonizing! Congratulations!! Good luck in your program!!
  12. Hi everyone. I applied to the post cert program. Mine was finally submitted last week due to NursingCas issues/delays. They said they would still accept it. Good luck to you all!
  13. No need to do a search. It's a poorly ran area with a slew of homelessness, obsurd crime rates and exaggerated cost of living for the little amount of pay. But thanks for your input.
  14. Maybe they're just oversaturated with NPs which drives down pay. SF is desirable (for reasons I have no clue why) but maybe docs and organizations have a large number of NPs to choose from and they can offer this low. I've heard RNs make much more than NPs there. Of course that's just hearsay
  15. Thank you. I'm so used to my current pay that a 30k pay cut will be difficult to adjust to but very much worth it to get out of the current area that I love in. There things we do for student loan repayment programs! Never again!
  16. Near the Mexico border in a very undesirable area. Summer temperatures exceed 110+ at least 4-5 months out of the year. Crime and drug use is very high. Trust me, not worth it at all.
  17. Hi and thank you. I'm just seeing your message. Sorry I haven't replied sooner. I was offered 130k and negotiated to 140k. Not too bad although the cost of living and child care will take a huge chunk of that. Guess that's the cost of living in such a desirable area. Yes, let me know what your friend says! I'm just curious if I accepted an appropriate offer ?
  18. Hi everyone. I'm currently looking to move to the CA central coast within the next few months; more specifically the San Luis Obispo or surrounding areas. I'm curious of the average salary there for NPs. I'm concerned that I may have to take a significant pay cut along with such a high cost of living. I'm currently doing very well salary wise in an under served area of CA near the Mexico border ($171K/year). I'm just looking for a little guidance from anyone willing to discuss this with me. Of course my husband and I do not want to make this move if cost of living out weighs salary....but I just can't find any solid answers while googling. Thanks in advance.
  19. The program has went very well. It's 19 months online and I have absolutely no regrets. I graduate next month. It's a challenging yet very doable program. I feel it is very well organized. I really like the professors as well. They are very friendly and make themselves readily available with comments, concerns or questions. Although it is online, there are many opportunities for success and interaction with faculty and other students via email, web conferences, blog posts, discussion boards and video submissions for assignments. The program is a bit on the expensive side but I feel that I have truly benefitted from the program and to me it was well worth the money. The only downside for me was my clinical experience. I live in a very underserved area which has limited preceptors. I feel that I haven't had the best experience in clinical but it isn't the school's fault. With that said, the clinical coordinator worked very hard to find me preceptors. With a little collaboration with her and a some work on my end, things worked out. Best of luck!
  20. Hi, I was just offered a limited term, intermittent position just last week with CDCR. I accepted and look forward to it. Just a quick question. During my interview, I clarified with them by asking what my schedule would be like. They stated that I would give them my availability and they will schedule me per what I am available. I only need per diem at this time since I am in school for my MSN. They stated that they will work with me. But my question is, what was your LT/intermittent schedule like? Was it as like they had stated for me? Were there minimum hours that you were required to work? Any additional info would be appreciated! Thanks :)
  21. I hope it moves along fairly quick like you said! That would be great. I hope to join the cohort as well. I'll keep you guys posted!
  22. Hey guys. I just submitted my application for the online FNP today. I just found out about the program...so I'm kind of late. Congratulations to everyone already accepted. How exciting. I'm actually transferring from an FNP program in NC, so I'm hopeful that they will accept all 15 credits. Fingers crossed because that would be a big load off my first few semesters. Anywho, how long after submitting your application did you have to wait to hear that you were accepted? I'm glad someone made this thread because it's very helpful and nice to know a few others going through this with me as well :)
