Anyone apply to St. Mary's CRNA 2019?
Very sorry about the rejection! Don't be discouraged guys, both of you seem like great candidates. There are 100+ schools around the country. Just because it doesn't work out with one program, that doesn't mean another program won't think that you're great candidates. Best of luck!

Disadvantage attending a smaller program?
*repost from Reddit* Hey everyone, I got accepted in to MSN program and a DNP program and now its just a matter of making the decision. I am leaning towards the MSN program however it is a smaller program as compared to the DNP program. The DNP program is in a major city and has clinical sites at major hospitals, but with that also comes a huge price tag and a longer program. The MSN program only has one trauma center it rotates to and the rest are smaller hospitals and CRNA only practices. My plan is to return home after school and to work in a large tertiary care level 1 trauma hospital that does hearts, heads, trauma, transplant, ortho, etc. I'm a little nervous that going to a smaller school may not adequately prepare me for practice in a large facility that does a huge variety of cases. Has anyone attended a smaller program and then worked at a large facility post graduation? How was the transition? Thank you in advance for the responses!

MSN vs DNP
Great point! It really hits home when you realize how much money you could be saving and earning when you go with the MSN route. I'm not sure about the MSN program but I believe the DNP program shares some clinical sites with residents.

MSN vs DNP
Hello everyone, I was lucky enough to be accepted to a MSN CRNA program which starts next year. I'm still waiting to hear back from one more school, which happens to be a DNP program. I'm sure other people have been in this situation so I was just looking for some insight regarding how to go about picking a program, if I am in fact accepted into the DNP program. I'm sure the standard of practice for CRNAs will transition exclusively to DNP/DNAP in the future however that is not the case as of yet. If I were to go the MSN route, I'm sure I can get an employer to pay for the DNP portion once I am working. A little info about the programs: MSN Program- Tuition is on the cheaper side, 28 months long, small college, good range of clinical sites DNP Program- Very expensive! (about 3x as much as the tuition of the MSN program), 36 months long, great clinical sites, very large University in a very large city, great weather all year long My first choice is the DNP program, but I don't know if I would be making a wise decision given what I've listed above. Any advice would be very much appreciated!

NKU CRNA 2018
Hey eh032685, Congratulations on your acceptance into NKU's program! I was invited for an interview at NKU next month. How was the interview process? Do you mind sharing your email so I can ask about some details about the interview? I don't think I'm able to private message you on here so I figure email is the next best option. I wanted to have a better understanding on how the interview process was going to be. Thanks in advance!

New machine to replace Anesthesiologists!?
Hey everyone, I'm a critical care RN aspiring to start CRNA school within the next couple of years. I read an article this morning that talked of some hospitals using new technologies that would essentially replace anesthesiologists. As one can imagine, this worries me quite a bit because I assume this is going to affect the role of CRNAs as well. Being that most of the people in this section are CRNAs in the field already, I wanted to get a CRNA's point of view about the matter. Is this a threat to the outlook of the profession? The article is by The Washington Post and is titled 'New Machine Could One Day Replace Anesthesiologists' for those that are interested. Thank you!

Any advanced pathophysiology and advanced pharm courses offered online? Please Help!
Hello my fellow nurses! I am in search of a school that offers a advanced pathophysiology course and an advanced pharmacology course online for non-matriculated/non-degree students. I've been searching through the forums and every program that I've come across has required its students to be enrolled in a masters program with the school. I've also noticed that a lot of people have also inquired about this. In order to help everybody out, can anyone suggest any online schools that offer these programs? Thank you so very much! PS. Any information on the enrollment process and the classes in general will be much appreciated ! :-)
