Northwest FL State College Spring 2021
Are those current threads? I took it twice and had high 90s in each category, except reading, I got an 88 there. I used the generic facebook page for HESI A2 studying.

Northwest FL State College Spring 2021
I'm applying for the bridge program, so fingers crossed! My points are 107, without the video points added. My friend was accepted last year with a total of 95 points though! Thanks again for your response! Otherwise, I might not have known to be looking out October 5th!

Northwest FL State College Spring 2021
Really?? That is amazing. I am not always able to check my account because it doesn't seem to load on my cell. I'll have to check mine later. What were your points, if you don't mind me asking? The video we had to watch said they would let ppl know by Nov 7, so im surprised it's early. Are you applying for RN or LPN-RN Bridge? :)

With the LPN to RN bridge program, I see it starts each August. What is the schedule like? Are you able to work and complete this program? Very curious before I apply. Thanks!!!

Why are LPNS so underpaid and disrespected
Shellaaay10x What state are you working in? Just curious since I graduate this July and I am interested in school nursing while I go on for my RN. :) I like to hear feedback on how other school nurses like their jobs and what they do everyday.

Going back to school @ 26
I love to see what everyone has to say about this topic! I'm 26 and applying to nursing programs as well. I think the only thing that makes it more difficult than if you are right out of high school is the fact that usually in your mid-twenties you have more responsibilities and more things on your plate than just school. That's the hardest part for me, how to give up a full time job to go back to school, when I have an apartment to pay for and a car loan. It can be scary, you just have to set your priorities straight, if you really want it, and make it happen. :)

Nursing Schools that use Kaplan Entrance Exam?
Did you get in the school you took it for? I got a 78% also a week ago for an LPN program. I was told that it was a "great score", but I still can't help but worry.

What should I expect to be on the Kaplan Nursing entrance exam?
I have a HESI a2 book and it has great information on A & P. Since A&P should be the same information no matter what book you are studying, I am using this to go over that particular section. Can anyone say for sure if that is a good idea? It seems like the Kaplan Science section in the study guide is overwhelming with SO MUCH SCIENCE information, instead of distinguishing between chemistry and anatomy and so on.. THANKS! :)

Two nursing entrance exams- Two Schools. One Week. ADVICE? TIPS?
Hey everyone! I need some input from whoever can help. haha. I am applying for a local LPN program -15 minutes from my house. I am also applying for an RN program 1 hour from my house. Both entrance exams have to be completed before March 1 and I also work a full-time, day job. I already have off work for Feb 17th to complete the LPN's entrance exam. The Kaplan. I am trying to decide on a time to schedule the RN program's exam (The Hesi A2) and... I'm hitting a dead end. I can either schedule the RN entrance exam on the 17th at 1:30 -which would be an hour an a half after I finish my LPN exam, and that hour would be spent driving to the location. OR, I get off work Friday's at 12:15, I could schedule it FEB 19th at 1:30 and immediately leave work, drive an hour and then take my RN exam, BUT I would only get about 2 1/2 -3 hours to take the exam because the testing center closes early on Friday's. SO, take 2 different entrance exams in one day .. or take them 2 days apart, losing time on one day?? Is this even smart to take 2 different entrance exams in ONE WEEK? Or should I maybe just choose one program over the other... at this point in time? Stressed - but thank you for any advice. :)

Pensacola State College RN Program
I can't remember exactly, but when I attempted to get in last year I had a total of 19 points. Billy in advising told me that they were only accepting those with 21 points and that I should keep trying to change my major. :/ Instead, I'm going through an LPN program and then trying again, hoping that makes a difference. The road is definitely long and can be challenging!

Pensacola State Nursing Lpn-Rn program
I realize it has been a year since your post, but did you start the program? If so ... How do you like it? Did you graduate yet? What was the admission like? I'm currently working on getting a seat for an LPN program here in Pensacola/Milton, and I noticed the bridge program at PSC. I don't know anyone that has gone through the program, so hopefully you get this and can give me some insight. :) Thanks!

Florida RN Salaries

Cost of your RN degree??
I am thinking of going to a Fortis school in Florida and the RN program is 45K. I can take night classes or daytime, but daytime would add on to the loan amount. Is this too much?? I think it is a ton of money for an RN degree, but I am interested to know what others have paid. Thanks!!

FORTIS - Pensacola Florida
I've heard many things, good and bad about the Fortis Institutes. I really would like opinions and facts about the Pensacola location, and other locations you may have attended. I'm looking into the RN program, probably night classes. The cost isn't pretty, but if the school is good and I can get hired quickly afterwards, I'll deal with the loans. I hear things like, places won't employ you if they've heard you've graduated from Fortis. I've ALSO heard, employers don't look at the place, but rather whether or not you are licensed. Any advice is great!! Thanks!

Milton/Pensacola, FL LPN Programs - Advice
Hi all, I'm not sure if anyone will be familiar with my area, but I live in Milton, FL. I am considering the local Technical College (Locklin Tech) for my LPN degree, a 10 month, day program. I don't know much about the program and I don't hear much, not sure if that is a bad thing or a good thing. IF anyone knows any information about their program any information is helpful. I have also considered FORTIS nursing, but have heard awful things about their programs. An old co-worker of mine is starting there in July and seems to be happy with that decision. Any advice on their Pensacola location would also be great! I am a few points shy of getting into the Pensacola State Program and have heard the waiting list is a nightmare in itself. So, I'm looking at other options. Any extra advice is great! Thanks so much in advance!

Is LPN the right route for me?

GPA advice. What would you do?
Hey guys! So here's my brief story. I have a B.S. degree but got it with the intention of going into an Ultrasound program after graduation. Now that I've realized the ultrasound program is $20,000 for 11 months of school, it's is just out of reach for me. I am paying 100% out of pocket for school. Well, I decided in December (2014) to go into nursing since a lot of my courses for my first degree are similar and I took my entrance exam and passed. However, my combined GPA from the college I got my A.A. at and the university I got my B.S. at is 2.65. :/ Yes, I know. It's terrible. A lot of things happened in my life during my bachelors and I just burned out and didn't apply myself very well. Also, my entire degree was online, which I will NEVER do again. That being said I don't know what to do since I the minimum GPA to get in is a 2.75 and that's if I retake the entrance exam and get mostly 90's or higher on each section except one. What would you do? Should I look at other health programs? The only other school I can try would be an hour away and I still have to work full-time Monday-Friday. Should I try LPN? Ugh, I feel stuck. Like I let myself down for nursing as an option.

Switching to health science
Well... Just some input. I have a Bachelors in Health Science- Allied Health. I can't say it's worthless because most of my classes will transfer- however, I am currently searching for another degree because there are no job opportunities with my degree alone. I am actually working on getting into a nursing program in my area. Which stinks to have to go through another degree but I have no choice if I want an actual career. :/ I learned many people in my classes were just waiting on the nursing program to take them, or they were going on to Physical Therapy programs and such after graduation. Best of luck!!
