LPN ignoring staff
That's true. I considered it, but when I tried speaking to him he ignored me although it was just a greeting. He's known for this behavior and has been picking fights with othet nurses lately so maybe it's just a bad mood. I'll try what you suggested.

LPN ignoring staff
Okay, so this is a random question but it's currently happening to me. I work in LTC on night shift. Sorry for the rambly post. My buidling has two sidea, A and B. I used to work A side frequently alongside a nurse, let's call him Greg. In recent months I've exclusively been on B side. We always got along relatively well, with me sticking exclusively to telling him work related things or sharing general greetings. Recently he started ignoring another LPN because he did not like how the other took a med pack from him. He then began to ignore me, although I have so far done nothing to offend him to my knowledge as I've been on the other side of the buidling. I know he's ignoring me because his girlfriend works my side and he always comes by. Then when I came back tonight I am on A side. Rather than tell me where I'm assigned, he tells the CNA in front of me and doesn't give me report or acknowledge me whatsoever. I'm honestly confused and a little befuddled that he's behaving in such a manner. I greeted him since he has begun this yet he completely bypassed me to greet another oncoming aide. Tdlr; LPN is actively ignoring me. What to do? Has anyone had this happen to them, or have advice?

Thank you for answering! I discovered that area of the site shortly after so I feel silly for posting this.

I want to pursue wound care
Hello, I apologize ahead of time for the rambly foot in mouth post and thank anyone whom reads or replies. I am interested in pursuing an RN career, although I plan to go to school for LPN initially. My main question is that I want to find a job in wound care once I complete schooling. Any advice on what route I should take, which elective classes would be a better fit or tips in general? Also anyone that works in wound care could you give me a run down of what it's lije, and involves. Both hospital or ltc facilities? I believe LPNs can do wound care as well, but I was told they're practicing under their DONs license and tend not to be hired for such a position, is that true? TDLR; I want to specialise in wound care, can anyone tell me about it or what route I should take?

Tell me how your instructors handled oral care in the lab
We only ever used dentures for denture care. We had to do oral care on each other and no one was allowed to sit out, there was no offer of bringing in friends or family, which I actually think sounds pretty cool!

tattoos and nursing, yay or nay
I understand the need for that, as you are representing the school. It reminds me of a girl that was in my CNA class and she had more than five tattoos, running all over her arms, hands and chest. I believe she even had one on her face. That would be a lot of make up haha.

tattoos and nursing, yay or nay
I have a tattoo on my left wrist, going all around my wrist, but it can and was covered by a wrist watch during clinical and my sleeves covered it during interviews. I do not think that such a tattoo should exclude you from any programs or jobs, particularly as it sounds as if it would be covered. As such, I think one should always wait. I waited around five years to get my own to be sure it was what I wanted, although I think yours' sounds lovely! Nearly every CNA and nurse that I saw during clinic had very visible tattoos, such as forearm or neck tattoos, which I think are much worse than one on the upper arm would be. I had an interview at an LTC facility and the woman doing the interview had a visible tattoo on her arm too. Just my way of saying it won't get you excluded from jobs necessarily, although people do judge and will as everyone has said. More so if you want to work in a hospital, I imagine.

Pre employment questions!
Wow, that is a long time! Thank you, I will. :) I am hoping it doesn't take a month at least.

Pre employment questions!
I suppose not! I'll probably do that, and see where I am at. Thank you.

Pre employment questions!
Hello, I have looked around and read that background checks/drug tests can take up to two weeks at times, but I could not find it for medical jobs. I applied for a CNA position at a local senor center, got a call back and attended an in person interview the next day. Immediately I did a drug test, and signed off for a background check and the paper I was given back says I'm in the pre employment stage. What I was wondering was does this mean I've got the job for sure? I know the background check and drug test will be fine and am not worried about that. How long should it take to hear back? It has been nearly ten days, and lots of places say to call back and ask how everything is going, but I do not want to seem difficult right off. I realize I'm likely getting antsy for nothing but thank you to anyone who can tell how long I'll be waiting, etc, and who takes the time to read. :)
