Just accepted at UCF and sent FSU my rejection!

I just joined the Facebook group! The CON also offers a lot of scholarships, but unfortunately we have to wait until we are enrolled in the Fall to actually apply for them.

I haven't received anything about the MOA yet.

The earliest I could do is late May. But I'm pretty flexible besides that.

I'm probably going in June! Not sure of the specifics yet.

Also if there is anyone reading this thread who is looking for a roommate for Fall, PLEASE let me know! I'd love to room with my fellow nursing students.

Finally marked as eligible! If I do go to UCF, I will definitely need to find a roommate(s) and an apartment. I'm in Tallahassee right now... it stresses me just thinking about it.

Thank you so much! This was really helpful. And I have a feeling that we'll find out either before or right at six weeks. I just found out that I got accepted to FSU's program (which is my last choice) Tuesday, and I wasn't expecting to hear from them until March.

I just received a preliminary denial from the CON because apparently my Fall 2014 transcript was not received even though I sent it in January. They're giving me one week to send it in, which shouldn't be a problem, but seriously...

That's why I'm so torn between the two. UCF is in a bigger city with a great program, which is appealing after being in Tallahassee for so long. But UNF has smaller cohorts and the most thorough admissions process of all the schools that I'm applying to, which I also like because it means they really want to get to know you before they let you on board. So if I get into UCF, I'll accept there but still go through the rest of the process at UNF. Both cities have great medical communities. I'll also apply to USF if I don't get into UCF. I also haven't done my speech requirement for FSU which you don't have to do before transferring, but I have no idea when I would get it done while I'm in nursing school. Another reason I'm probably going elsewhere! Congrats on your marriage genonurse!

It's almost March...not much longer! We just have to preoccupy ourselves. It doesn't help that UCF is sending me an orientation email literally everyday, though. And my pre-reqs are still under review according to the CON.

@ashtay06: I received an email this afternoon; I'd definitely call Thursday if you don't hear anything tomorrow. I'm transferring from Tallahassee Community College which is FSU's largest feeder school. What about you? UCF is my top choice right now. How did you like Orlando? I'm not familiar at all with the area.

Overall GPA: 3.93, Pre-req GPA: 3.96. I'll hear back from UCF in April and UNF in June. If I get in to UCF, I'll go ahead and accept there and withdraw from the FSU program. I'm from Tallahassee, so I'm mainly looking at other schools because I'm ready to get out of town. Plus I've heard some great things about those programs. Fingers crossed. So much waiting...

I am a transfer student and I was accepted to the CON today. Just to let you know genonurse, I will most likely be giving up my spot if I am accepted into UCF or UNF. And I still haven't heard back about my acceptance to FSU as a general transfer. I applied back in August.

That's such a relief to hear. The threads on here seem so negative about the job market for RNs right now!

Just out of curiosity, what the current job market for RNs in the Orlando area?
