  1. Does anyone know what the schedule might look like for the first few weeks. I know it said that we could all have different schedules after the first day of orientation, but is it 40 hr/week M-F? Thank you!
  2. A lot of us used our percentile on the predictor exam as our "chance of passing". So yours would be a 88% chance of passing. That's great! Good luck
  3. I scored a 92% chance of passing on the predictor exam, and averaged 63% on all my uworld tests. I passed first try in 75 questions. Uworld is amazing because of the rationales. Honestly, uworld questions are different than the questions on the nclex. Anyone else find that? The actual nclex asked more general questions, and the patients are not as sick as they are in uworld. But reading the rationales and understanding uworld's logic for answering a question is what's going to make you pass. Uworld is the best!
  4. I had a similar experience. Before taking the test, I thought I would easily be able to figure out if I was answering a passing level question or not. That did not happen. I had straight content specific questions randomly mixed in with application questions. I kept thinking I was failing because I didnt think I was getting passing level questions (I only had 2 or 3 triage questions, 0 delegation, etc.). Even my last question was a simple question just asking the adverse effect of a VERY common medication. The exam shut off at 75. I passed. Don't over think what type of questions you got. Stay positive!!
  5. Does Mayo provide scrubs or should we purchase them?
  6. Hi Egaddy, I just graduated from ASU! Mayo likes applicants that have exposure to Mayo. In your last year I would try to sign up for any available clinicals at Mayo or at least try to volunteer there. You don't have to have a set number of volunteer hours for the application, but I volunteered at PCH and I mentioned that on my resume. I got into the Mayo new grad program with a 3.64, so nothing crazy impressive
  7. Excited to be joining you all! 4E! Congrats to everyone!
  8. Congrats @jsf707 that's awesome!! How long after you received the email did they call you?
  9. Congrats!!I did not receive a call
  10. That's awesome!!! Congrats! How long after the email did you get a call?
  11. I got the background check email today.
  12. I read in last year's thread that they send the background check email out in waves. So if you didn't receive it yesterday, there is still chance. Stay positive! =)
  13. So does everyone who interviewed status change to interview, but they only send the email to people they plan to hire?
  14. Anyone hear from 5E, Tele. They said they were going to call us for a second interview in early December.
  15. My online application status changed to "interview". So they were definitely messing around with our profiles today. Anyone else?
  16. Are we supposed to have applied for our CA license if we're out of state? Or are some of you waiting until after the interview?
  17. I got a phone call today for an interview on the 21st. I think they're doing interviews all month of November. She wouldn't tell me what unit it was for. Good luck everyone!
  18. To the in-state applicants, how long do you think it actually takes from LAX to the Wilshire center. Google says 30 minutes, but I've heard about crazy LA traffic. Trying to decide how early to book my flight, thanks!
  19. I got an update to "routed to interviewing supervisor". I applied to the med-surg, step down units
  20. I also applied! I graduate in December from out of state- Arizona. Here's to another fun waiting period, good luck everyone!
  21. Of course men can work in OB. Now does it happen often? That's a different question. During my OB rotation I didn't see any men in the L&D unit, but there were a couple of men who worked in the NICU. All the parents were fine having me in the room. Actually the only discrimination I felt was from one L&D nurse. If it's your interest, then go for it!
  22. The shoes need to be black. A logo in a different color on the side is fine. It's funny, I had the same concern before I started this program a year ago. I actually used a black sharpie to color in the side of my shoes and then found out that I didn't need to do that!
  23. Hello, I couldn't find the information on their website. How many letters of recommendation are required for the application? Thank you!
  24. The scrub pants are now black. You'll need the polo for some of your psych and community health rotations. Last year, some of the graduates gave away or sold their scrubs. I'm sure people this year will be interested in doing the same. I know I'll be giving away my scrubs if anyone wants them
  25. I have financial aid through the school and a private loan from my bank. Most students use financial aid through ASU as well. Then there are some that work part-time.
