Hi all, I'm posting this across several boards in the hopes that I will get more responses. Does anyone know of any inpatient programs for morbidly obese patients to be managed for weight loss in or near Atlanta? So far, Duke is the closest program I can find and I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!

I agree with most of these comments and I appreciate the honesty of my fellow nurses. I started out as a CNA because I needed a job, plain and simple. Realized once I started that I was good at what I do. Went back to school for my nursing license because I figured that if I was gonna stay in healthcare I may as well earn more money. The wonderful thing is that although I fell into nursing for the job and the security, I'm a nurse because I LOVE WHAT I DO and loving what I do is part of what makes me a great nurse. If I hit the lottery big tomorrow, I'd still be a nurse and yes, I'd do it for free...just not full time, lol, and in an area where people couldn't afford basic healthcare. Don't wanna sound preachy, but we all have God given gifts and talents and mine just happens to be taking care of people. So I know I'm blessed to be able to earn a living doing something I love although it ain't always easy!

I watched that on television also and was totally ******! That's why I don't believe her story. Either she's lying about being a NP or she's lying about treating him because she should know darn well that she can't discuss his medical info! And I doubt if the estate gave her permission to discuss. The Jackson's are a VERY private family.

I've been an LPN for 4 year and I am moving to KC soon. Can anybody tell me pay ranges? Any advice on good places to find employment and places I should stay away from? Is the job market favorable? What is the pay range. I have experience in clinic nursing, med-surg and LTC and I'd appreciate if I could get some advice. Also, I'm going to be living on the Missouri side, how is licensing handled between Missouri and Kansas. I really appreciate any help I can get. Thanks Tracy

I don't know what positions are currently open, but I know that at Georgetown Community Hospital we are always looking for CNAs. I live in Lexington and work in Georgetown. It actually takes me less time to get to Georgetown than it does for my husband to get to his job and he works in Lexington. When I worked as a CNA the most rewarding job I had was as a home health aide for Hospice. I think that the Hospice Care Unit is a good place to work also. It's at St. Joe, but you have to apply at the Hospice of The Bluegrass on Alexandria Drive. I would be careful of the ltc facilities and make sure you are not walking into a mess. I also think that Central Baptist, St. Joe and Cardinal Hill are nice places to work for CNAs. Good luck to ya!
