COVID-19: Crisis travel RN feedback on your experience
I’m debating on taking the leap into crisis travel nursing. So I’m hoping those crisis travel nurses out there will enlighten me. Are your contracts being cut short? What crisis travel agencies are best? I have too many questions to type so please share your experiences. Thanks!

How long is too long to return to ICU?
So I am working back in psych where I have a state pension (not 401k, 403b, etc), but I just left neuro ICU where I worked for 3 years. So my question to all of you is how long can a nurse be out of the ICU and working in psych before the nurse is seen as "just a psych nurse" and not a good candidate for the ICU anymore? Thank you all in advance!

sw florida low census
Thanks for the info both of you. ...it makes this potential big move seem more fiscally safe. Cross your fingers I'm hoping to have an offer there before winter!

Why the rush to hire?
I am hearing that hospitals are hiring like crazy and not because of it being "season" soon. Anyone know why?

resume/job change
Thanks for the input ALL of you. As it stands now, I am interviewing for three hospitals in SW Florida and they are offering healthy sign on bonuses for 2 year contract of work. I would be leaving my current employer with 7 months in and my next job would be 2year contract...will this solidify my resume? 7 yrs, 9mos, 7mos, prospective 2 yrs? Thanks in advance. If I knew more about the low census issue in SW FL I'd be gone already. So long as I am not being low censused more than once a month I should be ok. Any advice?

sw florida low census
Looking at making a HUGE life change and move to fort myers/naples area this winter. I will be moving permanently ams working full time at one of the major hospitals in either of the two cities. Please, can any of you shed light on the low census reality once the snow birds leave? Both health systems are offering huge incentives, but not worth the move if I'm going to be called off every week in the summer. We all have bills and i am moving alone. PM me if you need more info or want to keep it private. Also which system pays better? Are there opportunities to work LTC at a nursing home as casual call to supplement your income? I really don't want to come down there with rose colored glasses on. Thanks in advance!

low census in florida
I will be full time. I would prefer nocs for the shift differential, but I would be willing to cover all shifts. What years was it slow? And has it picked up since? I just want to make sure with spending $1000 on rent plus bills, money won't be an issue. Especially if I am going to be contracted for a couple of years. Also, what hospital and unit did you work? Thanks!

low census in florida
I will be interviewing in Florida at a couple of different hospitals...Gulf Coast Med Center, HealthPark, and Naples. I am concerned about being hired full time and when the snow birds leave in the spring that I will be low censused or have my hours cut. Does anyone know about or have experience in this case? Any info would be helpful. I will be hiring for progressive care units, and med surg units. Thanks in advance!

resume/job change
So I just started a job I really like 1 month ago and now my bf of five yrs is talking about moving. I would be at my current job for 3-5 months when leaving...my resume is 5+ at one job, next most recent job 9 months, current job 3-5 months. My concern is if I move with him and I hate it or we break up or we move back here in 6months to 1 year... would my current employer consider rehiring me if I left on good terms with a one month notice despite only being empolyed for 3-5 months with them?
