Hi there, I got got accepted to for the Fall 2015 ABSN start, and have a question about tuition... I got some info. in the mail from financial aid that tells me how much I'm being awarded, but it doesn't tell me the total program cost. Does anyone know? Also, I'm a single-mom of a child that isn't yet school age and am trying to investigate childcare options. Does anyone have experience with this? I'm concerned about finding childcare that will cover hours outside of regular 8-5. What are the longest/latest/earliest hours that you've dealt with during the program? Thank you very much for the information! I'm trying to make the right decision for me and my daughter before we pick up and move across the country!

April 1st via NursingCAS, but NursingCAS screwed up and didn't verify one of my transcripts for a month. I finally called them about it, and they fixed it the same day, but I wonder if that might be part of the hold up.

I haven't heard either. They had told me May 1st, but when I called last week they didn't have any news. I just got accepted to Research though (and Louisiana College) so I'm not sweating it too much :-)

It's nice to hear that your cousin had a good experience at Creighton! I agree, time is $ at this point. My challenge is being a single parent of a preschooler. I like Creighton because they have child care on campus and offer the option of me coming home for my preceptorship. I just wish they had an arrangement with local hospitals for hiring with loan repayment... RCON, in Kansas City, has that option, I've also applied there. And to MNU, which is also in the Kansas City area. I'm also looking at Shenandoah in Virginia, Louisiana College and Union University. Utica's program in Florida was the school that I heard back from today :-( I'd rather stay closer to home, but I don't want to wait until the Fall of '16 to start, for many reasons. I don't know how I'm going to pay for it though, because my credit sucks...

LisaMichelle13, May I ask why you decided on Creighton over SU? It would be very odd if there were 3 Beavers in a cohort of 30 something!

Interesting, that's good to know. I only took two terms of A&P, but I also took two terms of A&F. I did the lectures and labs for Micro and Chem. Thanks for the info. I'm talking to another school on Monday, so that will help give me a better idea of where I'm at. I'm going to have to take another Chemistry class this summer anyway to cover the OChem or BioChem prereq, so that would cover the Chemistry I think, and I know I could do the credits by exam thing via Excelsior for the Micro credits, but I don't want to have to mess with all of that on top of moving and the Religion class I'm taking online! If they would accept my A&F + A&P credits I could challenge that as well, but it's all more time and money :-(

Since you guys are both OSU grads going to Creighton, I was hoping that one of you could answer a question for me. Did either of you have any issues with your Science requirements being on the quarter system? I ask because I just got turned down (unless I wanted to retake Micro, both A&Ps, and Chem) from another school because my prereq Science credits didn't translate into enough hours on the semester system. I'm worried that I'm going to have the same issue with the other schools I've applied to, as they are all on the semester system. Thanks!

Did you guys get much financial aid help? I think my final school decision is going to come down to the economics, so any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm a single mom of a three year-old as well and am looking at starting at Creighton in the Fall, I'd be moving out from Oregon, so I'm sure you had a lot of the same concerns that I do. If you have time to talk about your experiences with housing, child care, etc. I'd love to talk to you!
