RNs and CNA's/PCT's can also spot new nurses who have never worked as a CNA/PCT. Hard, laborious work, to be sure. They have my respect. Nurses who have held that position oftentimes are more well rounded, are willing to help out a bit more and have respect for their aides. (Not always, but most times.) I 100% agree.....working as a PCT on a unit and coming back as an RN almost always assures employment on the floor/hospital.

You sound like an insecure RN, Emergent. I also seriously doubt you have 21 years of experience. The old Iron Horse nurses are able to hold their own with strong personalities and actually admire initiative in their CNA's/PCTs. Careful about putting the "little CNA" down too much. They spend the most time bedside with patients and often have their ear and heart. If you're nice, she might just save your ass someday, honey. Also, who refers to their patient as a "nose bleeder?" Seriously.
