  1. I'm a nurse extern in a busy I.C.U. I recently helped a nurse dig out poop of an exderly compacted patient. The pile of poo was as big as my head! I thought I was gonna gag...but I didn't. You're always stronger than you think you are.

Hey Ya'll, Quick question...when administering Lovenox, SC, do you hold the pinch while administering, or release the pinch, then administer? Any tips appreciated. This came up during clin. this wk., 2nd sem. of 4, adn...I've had mixed responses, so I thought I'd ask you pros...thanks, Kelly
  4. You don't have anything to lose by trying it...except for the stones. I'ts only 11 days, and the ingredients are all natural. Follow up with your doctor...only he can advise if you still have them. Coral calcium (you can get it at Sams or most local drug stores) and vit D3 supplements are great for future prevention of Gall/kidney stones. Lemons are a great cleanser for your body...I incude them daily into my diet. You can do a google on this and find out for yourself. Good Luck!
  5. http://www.chantix.com It's amazing...the only side effects...you won't crave cigs.
  6. I have an individual health ins. policy through Humana One...you can get free quotes on http://www.ehealthinsurance.com My premium is only 100.00 a month and I have a 25.00 copay, and a 2500 deduct. I've been very happy with them.
  7. I'm with all of you...just submitted application, letter, and NLN scores...should find out mid-Nov. I'm applying for the Spring of 07 2 yr program at my local CC. They only accept 60 students, so I'll be anxiously waiting! The pre-reqs were tough, but I managed to get all A's. Boy, I feel like a weight has been lifted...now I can enjoy myself and rest until Nov. Good luck to everyone else waiting!!!:monkeydance:
  8. I don't believe there is one...and if there was, I wouldn't advise taking it. There is sooo much information to retain and "hands on" lab activites to participate in for the tests.
  9. I've been a Kaeser and Blair dealer for several years now...I love it! It's perfect while I'm going to school. I approach getting sales differently...I prefer inside sales to outside sales. I do everything by phone. I used to be in telesales, so it comes natural to me to make sales to businesses by phone. I save on gas, have no overhead, etc. I am full commission, so if I don't sell, I don't make money. Yesterday, I got a 2900.00 sale and made about 1300.00 in commission. It just depends on if you're the sales type. It's great extra cash, and K & B deposits all comm. directly into my checking account. I'll give you the link if you'd like to research the company's history. They have been around for over 100 yrs, and I can't see my self ever leaving them. PM me if you are interested, and I'll get more in depth. http://www.kaeser-blair.com/
  10. Stupid question...what does the "D" stand for in DH?? Hang in there, I'm in my last semester of pre-reqs right now and my hubby couldn't be any more supportive for the first time...he hated the thought of me going to school to be a nurse at first...they really do come around after they get used to your new routine. I think mine was jealous bc I was spending much of my time elsewhere (school or studying), and not paying that much attention to him. Thank goodness we found that happy medium!
  11. Last night was my first A & P II class (lab). After going over the syllabus, we got in groups of three and had to skin a cat! The smell was horrible. The cat was huge...probably 20 lbs. I couldn't believe we did this on day 1. After we skinned our cat, we had to cut open the abdomen, crack the ribs, and examine the innards. There was a group that had a pregnant cat. Finally, we had to rinse the skin, wrap it back around the cat (to keep moist) and put our assigned cats back in their double wrapped bags to be used for the entire semester. I had the same teacher last sem. for A & P I, and we never dissected a thing! Interstesting huh?! I think I'm gonna go by some scrubs to wear to lab so my clothes don't get ruined!
  12. Yasmin works wonders for me. I initially started on it because I had a large cyst on my ovary, and my doctor wanted to stabilize it. It didn't make it go away, but it kept it from growing, and bought me a few months before I had to have surgery so that I could finish the semester out. That was a year ago, and I still take it because I love the short, light periods. Also, I have NO PMS. :)
