  1. Review the admissions packet for the program found on their website. Within the packet is a checklist page which tells you exactly what you need and when you can apply. Keep in mind that the program is very competitive and you need about a 3.7 gpa in required courses for admissions. Don't take too many classes that you can earn A's and B's.
  2. Good luck!! I just graduated in May. Waiting on eligibility from BON to test. I'm so anxious all my classmates have either gotten their approval to test and some have already tested and passed. I already got a job offer lined up so I'm even more nervous!
  3. It just means that is can start as early as 6am; really it is up to your instructor's discretion.
  4. You don't immediately start at the hospital for clinical days. The first "6" weeks (don't quote me on that) you have clinical days on campus doing skills check off and simulations. Since you will be doing clinicals on campus, instead of arriving at 6 am, you arrive at 7 and evening instead of arriving at 1, you arrive at 3.
  5. Talk to the manager of the HEC bookstore. She can total the price of your order and will call to have your line of credit increased. It may take a day or two but it can be done.
  6. Days do not go thru the summer. When you come into the orientation, you are given a list of about 7 options. It is usually 4 clinical sites for days, and 3 sites for nights. You place your choices in order of preference of clinical site. Lets say you choose a Baycare hospital for nights.. you will remain at Baycare facilities for much of your sites.. Now if you were to choose a Baycare site for days, you would all start the term at the same time but you would miss summer term and thus be graduating after the nights group that goes thru the summer.
  7. For nights, if you do not go thru the summer, you must wait to re-apply into the program and start with the next cycle. I.E nights starts fall and spring. If you start in fall for Level I and you don't do Level III in the summer, you can do Level III in fall with those that started Level I in spring. But if you try to do it the other way where you started Level I in spring, you will be skipping Level II in summer and there wont be a Level II again until next Spring (because there is no Level II that begins in fall) and from what I know, if you take a semester off, you will have to reapply into the program but I'm not 100% on that.
  8. No problem. I wish I had someone helping me along the way. There were a lot of "surprises" along the way. Also, nights go through the summer. Something I wasn't aware of at first. But the bright side of cramming a 18 week course into 10 is that we graduate a semester before the days. :***:
  9. No problem, I was there once before too. When you get accepted, you are given a list of day and night classes along with the facility where clinicals will be done at. You rank them in order of preference and based on your rank into the program, they place you. In Level I for nights, we went to class Mon 3-5, Thur 3-6. Clinicals were done on Tue and Wed, 2-11ish. The first 8 weeks (we were on campus) and then at the hospital the last 8 weeks. Hope that gives you a general idea. Good luck, again!
  10. Hey everyone, hope made it through Level I! Just stopping in to see how things worked out. Best of luck to you all.
  11. Hi Chriss- congrats on getting in. I know in the straight nursing program, it was very hard to work and do school. I do 24 hrs a week at my job, working in the am and going to school at nights. I have classmates that work just weekends. The instructors suggest you not work, but of course that option isn't realistic to everyone. You just have to find out what will work for you. The bridge program just takes you out of having to do Level I. You merge in with Level II students. As far as testing, we test from ATI, not TEAS. Hope it works out for you!
  12. Hi, good luck on getting in! I've heard mixed things about GPA from my other classmates. There was someone with a 4.0 who was an alternate. They say fall semester has tough competition to get in. They say they use GPA, courses completed, and residency as a way to determine placement. To read ahead, we mainly work out of Kozier & Erb's Fundamentals of Nursing book. Take the time off during the summer to rest, you will need it. I just finished Level I and I'm in nights so we go through the summer, graduating a semester earlier than those that went to days that started with us. Hope this somewhat helped. Good luck again!
  13. You should be able to apply while taking your last class I was taking my last class micro in the fall 2014 and applied and got in for spring 2015. Keep in mind that fall cohorts are more competitive. Admissions uses a point system based off of GPA and completed pre-reqs and then Pinellas County residents are given priority. Good luck!!
  14. Received this email from the school today: This is a reminder that when reporting to on campus clinical classes day student's report at 7 a.m. (not 6 a.m.) and evening students report at 3 p.m. (not 1 p.m.) Let us know if you have any questions.
