Hesi is a very touchy subject for me because I had to do it 4 times it was very hard and used by some schools for all the wrong reasons I passed my boards on my very first attempt because the imformation was things I could relate to maybe even saw before I can say if you use your Lippincottt and Saunders it would be helpful you and your classmates are lucky you only need an 850 on hesi my classmates and I were told the same thing when we started but 6 months before taking the hesi the school hired a new chair and after giving us a Sandra B Smith review about one before taking hesi she raised the passing score to 1000 this was done because the school needed to be fully accredited and didn't want to take any chances myself and my collegues about 40 of us have all passed our boards on the 1st try and out of the forty of us more than 20 of us almost fail out because of Hesi it is no joke good luck

When my classmates and I first had this problem we went to the Boards of nursing of that state and they said they had no control over what the school requirements are for finishing but they would look into it but no one did so we had to find another way to be heard and that is how we were allowed to get another chance to test, so shortage or not I would recommend that anyone looking to go to a nursing school to be very aware of both the entrance and exit requiements for the school they are intrested in.

myself and my fellow classmates said the same thing but if this problem keeps up someone is going to acknowledge it and work towards changing tis as a requirement

that is so true I wish some one would let these schools who swear by Hesi know that and also remember what Hesi is really for and that is an evaluating tool

you are so right and for some students the programs are quite expensive some like me had to go from a fulltime job to part time with no financial help and I kept up did what was required and they almost screwed me over a past fail rate this should be loked into by the state boards but again do you really think people care maybe maybe not

the Hesi was by far much harder because Nclex adapts to your knowledge not Hesi

I have passed the HESI now with 1052 but for all that drama it wasnt worth it there is a shortage for nurses but if you really want to become one you have to endure a lot to acheive it

Does anyone have info on any school in the New York area that would give students a nclex review and then sign them up for the stae boards this is providing that the student completed and LPN program but failed to pass the stupid HESI with a 950

That might be true but my first 2 semesters was a nightmare not enough was taught but as a group we got together and helped each other the best part of my 15 months program was the last 3 semesters the instructors were excellent helped alot and then the nightmare happened again in all 5 students made the 1000 so she dropped it to a 950 so 10 other people made it through I totally hate HESI and wish if I could have this exit exam banned like some states have because if there is such a shortage why are these schools taking students money and crushing their dreams if I had seen this coming I would never attended a school with such a high passing average, would you have?

Well im one Student who managed to keep a GPA of 3.4 and a B plus but failed Hesi because my school got a new chair who decided to raise the passing score from a 850 to a 1000 so as to help the school to become fully accredited I got a 815, 945 ,866 I have perfect attendence and never but once missed clinicals but that did not mattered because now I have to start all over again so who wins and the program was very costly $20000 and I am not rich but now I have no diploma actually it is 15 of us so who is going to be my advocate i am upset and hurt no trrue nurse would do something like this to a new nurse to be

I just did my HESI yesterday and I bombed I am so heart broken because I know my info but when I did the Hesi CD I kept getting between 68-88 but I stilled fail it really was different I go again on friday but now I feel Like I am going to do worst .

Hi all my fellow class mates and I are doing the Hesi exit in 2 weeks has anyone done it recently because we heard it has been up dated and is even harder than before we do pretty well with classes but we know that is can be the end all be all for some can I get some feed back on this please
