I am sorry to hear that you did not make it ... However, it's not the end of the world ! You'll get 2nd time. Not passing the NCLEX on your first try does not mean that you are going to be a 'bad nurse' , it simply means that you'll need to study a little bit more. After all, it's only a test. I would strongly advise you this time do as many NCLEZ type Qs as possible (I did around 40000 b4 I took it). Next thing is – don’t be in a rush to retake it ASAP. Set a time frame for yourself for studying, meaning, think for a minute " How many weeks do I need to do >= 4000 Q and review content again. You'll have to study every day ! Cramming for the NCLEX does not work for everybody. Therefore, taking your time and get ready for 2nd try is crucial. Don't listen to those who say that 2, 3, or 4 weeks of studying is enough b/c we all different. Thus, set your own timeframe for studying and than you'll feel more confident about yourself. Kaplan Q - bank online helped me a lot. From all of the materials that I used for studying, I found Kaplan's Q-bank being the most close to the NCLEX type Qs, and Sounder's book - being very valuable for the content review. Keep in mind, that Qs from Sounders are more knowledge based type Qs, and I thought that they were too easy for me, whereas, Kaplan Qs were more challenging and, to me, looked more like a real test. I gave myself 8 weeks to get ready for NCLEX, and I did at least 100 Qs every day. I passed on my 1st try with 75 Qs. Good luck ! Do not give up !

BTW, I passed NCLEX-RN with 75 Qs and Qs that I had were nothing even close to NCSBN. Instead, they looked like Kaplan. Good luck !!! I still say that NCSBN was waiste of money for me.

I got my results 50 hrs later from pearsonvue:angryfire. GA BON is VEEEEEERY SLOW and it will be 10 days before they'll update their website. Thank God I pased :monkeydance:!

1 . Passed with 75 Q last week 2. Used mainly Sounder's for content and Kaplan Q-bank and Q trainer 3. Read 90% of all chapters in Sounder's, did most of the Quizes, did approx. 2000 Q from CD. Friend of mine passed NCLEX with 75Q and she did Sounder's CD only. Did all of the Qs and took notes. Good luck !

I know how you feel b/c that’s how I felt last week while waiting for my results. Pearsonvue says it’s 2 business days after you took your test not including the day of the test. However, it’s not true, everybody on this forum got their results back 48-52 hrs counted from the moment they hit “submit your test”. I got my results back in 50hrs the same as my friend. We both took it on Tuesday (but diff. dates) and it seems to be a slight delay for those who took it on Tuesday. After I call Pearsonvue, complained to supervisor my results were uploaded 2 min. later. So, stop worrying b/c odds that you passed the NCLEX are in your favor. I also had 75 Q, meds, 4 select all that apply etc. and I passed. So, go and do something relaxing and those dreadful 48 hrs will pass quickly, and the next thing you know – there is RN next to your name.

From I understand, computer makes its decision if you passed or failed based on the fact that you answered 50% of difficult Q's (Qs that above passing line). Thus, I think if you did well, than it might passed you somewhere between Q # 50-60. But b/c you can't have Good luck !

My last Q was easy and I think I got it wrong (?) I passed with 75Q

To be honest, I reviewed only most common meds, their side effects, class, and Pt’s teaching. I used my PDA for that. I spent my last day b4 test on medications and was very, very happy that I did not studied >1 day b/c the meds I got were the once I heard of b4, and 1 med was totally random and I never heard of it b4. I passed with 75 Qs and all of my friends did exactly the same. I spent of my time on the content review and practicing Qs. Good luck with studying and keep us posted !

I am very sorry to hear it… Keep your chin up b/c life doesn’t end here! You’ll get it 2nd time! You not the first one who didn’t pass and the last one. Take a brake , relax and spent a few days to put your self together. There is nothing to be ashamed of. You got through nursing school and this means something. This is only temporary bump on your way, and you’ll overcome it next time. Now, as far as review goes, continue with Kaplan b/c it's good for practicing priority Qs. Give yourself a time to go through the whole Sounder’s 3rd ed review book. The key to pass NCLEX is knowing the content b/c in order to get those hard priority Qs you have to be able to go through the easy Qs first, and those are usually knowledge based Qs. The Sounder’s book is thick and may look overwhelming at the beginning but it covers 100% of the content that you’ll see on the NCLEX. It comes with CD and some people learn better while doing Qs, reading rationales and taking notes and than reviewing them 1-2 weeks b4 test. I know there is Suzan’s plan posted on top of thread and it works for most of the people. So, you might want to do that. It based and focused on the Sounder’s 3rd ed. Remember, only 89% of US graduates pass their NCLEX on the first try, so you not alone and certainly not a failure !

Hey, Don’t get discourage things happen to all of us, and sometimes we have no control over them. I used: 1. Sounder’s 3rd ed 2. NCSBN 3. Mosby’s CAT 4. Kaplan Q-bank, and Q – trainer Out of all 4, on the actual NCLEX-RN test, I felt like Sounder’s was good investment for review, and KAPLAN THE BEST for type of Qs you’ll see on the NCLEX. To me , actual NCLEX Qs resembled 99% KAPLAN ! I know Kaplan is expensive, but it’s worth it . I passed with 75Qs, and few of my friends too. Good luck and keep your chin up, you’ll get it next time :balloons:!

I did not like it and it was useless for me:down:. Sounder's and Kaplan Q-bank and Q-Trainers are the best. In my opinion, Nclex resembled Kaplan 99%. I had 75Q and still waiting for my results:idea:.

How long did you wait for your results to be posted ?
