  1. If I could afford to I would.
  2. I'll be doing the part-time LPN program beginning Jan 07. It'll take a year and a half then another year and a half for part-time RN but I'm like you, I have to work. I have my prereqs done for my RN so I'm just waiting!!
  3. I would like to have one now, however finances and the fact that I'm in school would make that an unappealing situation. I grew up in a low income family and have always said that I wouldn't have kids if I were not in a stable situation. I have a good paying job and hubby does too. Infact I make more than my parents did together and they had three kids! But, I feel that without a degree and some form of safety net (I.e. being able to find another job easily if something happened to mine) I would be uneasy the entire time. But, as you guys have said over and over...if we wait until we're financially secure we'll never have one. Can you tell I have issues with money??? Hubby hates it because I never let him have anything. Save save save!! I'll be done with school in about four years, I'll be 27/28 then (don't know why my age says 29 to the left) and I think we get more patience with age too. I'm sure I'll need that. Had stepson this weekend who is as sweet as he can be, but he is 6 and 6 IS annoying. I had to step aside and breathe a few times.
  4. The more I think about it, the more I see that I try to talk myself into it a lot. My best friend is expecting right now and it is so exciting for her. It's exciting to me too. Most of the times that I think I want one is when someone is pregnant and I get baby fever. I also like the idea of making memories with my children. Christmas, Halloween, birthdays, etc are so much more fun when there are kids around. Then there's the thought of grandkids... BUT, the stress factor that comes with having children freaks me out too. Especially the financial aspects. I do have a six year old stepson whom I adore. It's not like I'm not making memories with him now and he'll give me grandkids I suppose. We get along wonderfully.
  5. Great advice. I was in Wal-Mart last night and I swear every 4 year old in town was in there pitching a fit. All their mothers looked like they were minutes away from going postal!
  6. Absolutely! Two of my good friends got preggers within a month of getting off the pill. Talk about hormones. They've both got me on speed dial and are driving me crazy!! Will this be your first?
  7. My husband has a child. I know I'd be a good mother, I'd like to have a child, and I know I wouldn't regret it if it happened. I guess I just worry about all the things I'll be giving up. I worry about finances and time and my relationship with my hubby... I am still young though (23) and wasn't planning (if I decided to) to have one until I was 28 or so. I guess my worries are kind of premature.
  8. I mean, what if I don't and I'm old and I can't do anything about it??
  9. Oh really? Do you know when this was? They didn't say anything about it on their website and if they have they definitely need to update it!
  10. Does anyone live/work in the El Dorado/Camden area? Any ideas about starting RN salaries around there?
  11. Hi guys! Can anyone recommend the nursing program at UAM in Monticello? I'm getting my prereqs now and trying to decide where to go afterwards. Any recommendations? Thanks!
  12. Moutain_rn - How do you and your dh deal with childcare as regards to your schedules? Do you work days and he work nights on the same day? I thought about that but then he'd be at work while I was trying to sleep with the kid wide awake!
  13. Are any of your spouses nurses as well? My dh and I are thinking about starting a family but were worried about how we were going to handle childcare.
  14. I've seen my gyno yearly for the past three years with regular pap smears and she's never mentioned it. I never did because I was never aware it wasn't normal. Surely she would notice. The bumps anyway if not the discharge. Sometimes it smells kind of strange but never putrid. My husband's never said anything about the bumps either. I KNOW he would notice!
  15. It's a lot of bumps. On the inside of the labia majora and on labia minora.
  16. I have a very personal question. Since I was little I've had bumps in my lady partsl area. I've had them as long as I can remember and have never thought anything about it until I started nursing class and now I don't feel normal. I have also had a slight discharge since I was young too. These bumps don't itch and are not painful. I'm confused and freaking out.
