i have alot of friends who left nursing for a much higher calling... motherhood :)

i've been on "vacation" for about a month and a half already...usually as soon as you step inside their human resourses department they'll ask you when you can start! well maybe the healthcare staff strike has something to do with it too huh???

they give computer tests everyday. it depends on you. as long as you meet their requirements, paid the necessary fees and they send you your authorization to test...you can schedule your test whenever you want. allow about 5 hours for the test. the computer stops when either you've met the passing score, reached the maximum number of test questions or sadly if you failed. but don't you need to pass the cgfns first?

computer turning off at 110 is both good and bad. good because your test is done. bad because now you'll be stressed from waiting.

i agree with that. heck! i can be a street sweeper, expect to make money out of that and still help people. nobody will criticize me for that. but for nurses, as soon as you say "good pay"...all heck brake loose . goodluck on your job search. i hope you find your nitch.

skin might have grown into the upholstery and she probably had alot of bad skin issues being left in the sofa with her own waste. this is very sad. the so called husband needs to answer for this. it's not enough for him to say . that is unacceptable. shame on her so called family.

i know what you mean...i work nocs too...also, i have a 2 year old son who keeps me awake the whole day...i'm thinking of either changing to eve shift or find a 10 or 12 hour/day shift...at least i'll be working less days...more time to sleep :)

it differs by state...like in ny you can retake it every 45 days...in cali every 3 months.

i remember somebody once told me...everybody can pass the nclex, it's when you pass that differs. try reading or enrolling in kaplan courses. they teach you how to take the test and how to look at the questions. hang in there.

if the mother said breastfeeding...breastfeeding it shall be. it's not for the nurse to decide how to feed the babies unless it's her own child. i wonder why the mom's doesn't question why she doesn't do feedings at night? my son had to stay in the hospital for about 2 weeks (he was premature) and we've decided to bottlefeed our son with my breastmilk. that's our choice. my son is 2 years olds now and thankfully, he's healthy, strong ang without complication from being born 6 weeks early and just a little over 3 pounds.

i haven't even read you post but with the subject title alone...i would say YES...take him...even if you have to trick your husband...your gut feeling tells you to do so. i have the same prob with my hubby. i had to tell him that we're going to see our son's pedia. surprise, surprise......at least i was sure he was OK

not in our hosp...they usually start the new grad in the day shift...where our supervisors said "all things happen"...family, docs, labs, chaos...i started nocs because i'm a night person (even with a 2 year old boy), but i did about a week of AM orientation. hope you find a shift that will suit you perfectly. good luck!

in california...it only list your full name and action in your license...NOT and NEVER ones home address...i didn't know that they did that in some states:eek:...that's scary:chair:...granted patients has the right to check if the person taking care of them is licensed BUT they don't need to know where you live.
