Vanderbilt MSN 2015
When do people have to pay deposits to confirm they are going to Vandy? I am waitlisted but after checking with Emory and Duke, Vandy is looking like a good option for me since it is totally billed at the graduate level. (And cheaper and shorter). Anyway, I have paid a deposit at Emory but class starts in May so I'm kind of in a bind and would like to know from Vandy.

Emory Fall 2015 Applicants
ABSN + MSN starts May 18th for whoever was asking earlier. I graduate from UGA on May 8th and if I go to Emory, I would start 10 days later . So much for a summer lol

Vanderbilt MSN 2015
Oh ok!And I applied and Vandy, Duke, Emory, and Florida. Emory is the only one I have heard back from yet, and I got in there. I would expect Vanderbilt to be soon, and Duke/Florida to be in March.

Vanderbilt MSN 2015
FNP is very behind from what I can gather. Everyone I talk to that has applied for FNP is still waiting. I know a few that have been accepted but they are in the minority at the moment. Hopefully it is soon, the anticipation is killing me. What other programs did you apply for? I've heard back from Emory about ABSN+MSN for FNP and I am waiting to hear back from Duke about the same program. I was told we should know the first week in March for Duke, so just wondering where you heard 2/18 from.

I just got off the phone with admissions and they are still working on the applications

Vanderbilt MSN 2015
Last time I called, they said they were still working on the preliminary evaluations and haven't even finished sending out acceptance letters yet. Granted, this was regarding FNP so I can't speak for other specialities. But, from the way they made it sound, very few people have heard back about FNP so far.

Which school would you attend and why to become an FNP
DUKE, VANDERBILT, or EMORY. I have read online that Vandy is #10 for FNP, Duke is #13, and Emory is #21. Don't know if that is true or not but I am interested in hearing everyone's case for each school. Thanks, Alex

Vanderbilt MSN 2015
Anybody heard anything about FNP yet? I'm getting anxious lol I'm ready to know what my options are and if I get to visit Nashville soon or not! Haha. I just hate calling, just in case they are taking notes about who annoys and bugs them the most

Vanderbilt MSN 2015
No worries, when I spoke to them about my FNP app, they said there are many apps that haven't even been reviewed yet, simply due to the volume they received this year. They said don't panic if you haven't heard yet, as some simply got to the review committee earlier than others. They didn't sort them based on who had the best application or anything, due to the "rolling" admissions process. They work daily on them by simply taking the app, reviewing it, and say yes or no. She made sure to say to not panic though, and no response doesn't mean you are not in yet.

Vanderbilt MSN 2015
This is killing me not knowing. Admissions is so vague as to when to expect an answer. I wish they had a set deadline so I would know when to have some peace of mind!

Vanderbilt MSN 2015
Just spoke with admissions. I was told my application was still in the hands of FNP dept and they are working daily to get them reviewed. She said don't worry that others in the same speciality have already been finding out, it's just a long process and it takes time to get to them all. She said they haven't finished checking everyone's out yet. I applied prespeciality and applied before November 1, just FYI

Vanderbilt MSN 2015
Did you guys get a paper acceptance letter or an email first or what? I'm at home for Christmas and the thought of an acceptance letter being at my mailbox is killing me! I've gathered that the application management page doesn't update very regularly. Also, I'm a male applying to FNP so that's another guy for the two who posted earlier.

Vanderbilt MSN 2015
I am applying for FNP in 2015. I am a male applicant and I will be graduating from UGA in May 2015 with a BS in Human Development. My overall GPA will be a 3.4 and my major GPA will be a 3.8. I had a 153 Quant and 152 Verbal GRE. I am currently serving in a year long internship with an Alzheimer's and Dementia research and care facility. I am also going to be logging hours shadowing at a Gastroenterology clinic next spring. I have had several leadership roles over the years. I am applying to Vandy, Duke, Emory, and Florida. Vandy is my first choice. I applied for the early decision Nov. 1 deadline and the suspense is already killing me! I am so anxious to find out!

Duke ABSN Fall 2015
I am applying to Vanderbilt, Duke, Emory, and Florida. They are listed from my first choice to last choice.

Duke ABSN Fall 2015
I am a male student applying Fall 2015. My undergraduate GPA is a 3.4 in Human Development. My GRE score was a 153 Verb (59th percentile) and 153 Quant (50th percentile), and this equates to an 1180 total score using their old scoring methods. Vanderbilt is my first choice, but Duke is my second and I'm anxious thinking about it!

Help! Applying to ABSN-MSN Programs! Looking to become a FNP.
Hi. I am a male student that is going to graduate from UGA with a degree in Human Development in Spring 2015. I am looking to become an FNP by doing an ABSN program that bridges into an MSN or DNP program. I will be applying to Vanderbilt, Duke, Emory, and Florida. My GPA will be a 3.4. All A/B's on pre-reqs. I scored a 306 (153 on both Verbal and Quant.) on the GRE. This translates to an 1180 via the old scoring. 153 is in the 59% percentile on Verbal and 153 is in the 50% on Quantitative Reasoning. I am currently in a year long internship at an Alzheimer's and Dementia Center and I am likely shadowing a Cardiologist and Gastroenterologist in the spring. I have other volunteer experience in hospitals, assisted living facility, etc. I want to know if you guys think I will get in. Anybody else applied and got in or is applying? I have heard from two students at Vanderbilt that there are currently two guys that they know of who got in with less than the required GPA and less than the previously required 1000 GRE score. I don't want to bank on that simply because they're looking for guys to join their program but I want to know how I truly stand up and if you guys think I will get in at Vandy and anywhere else I listed above. So what do you think? Help! Im getting so anxious thinking about it!

FNP or AGNP or AGACNP
FNP, Adult Primary, or Adult Acute Care. Which is better? What are the perks of each? Which has the most flexibility in terms of jobs? I am applying this December to a few schools and have to specify which I would like to do and would like some opinions from others. What do y'all think?
