Career advancement during NP school- would it pay off?
Opinions/advice needed! There is an opportunity at the site that I completed clinical hours through for a nurse manager with a salary that is comparable to new grad PMHNPs in my area. The upper limit is actually significantly above starting new grad pay and the lower limit is about 20K more than I make now. My long term career goals are not to be a nurse manager, but my dream job would be as a provider at that site. I have one year left in my BSN-DNP program. I have been trying to pursue leadership opportunities in nursing at my current workplace, but no offers thus far. I the extra income is also enticing. I know I am capable of performing in a leadership role, but I am hesitant to try for a position that I knowingly would not want to keep for more than 1-2 years. Some questions for you all: Would a career advancement at a new site be too much to tackle during my last year of NP school? How would a leadership position now heighten my chances of securing a position as a new grad NP upon graduation? Would this be a chance to get my foot in the door at a desired practice site? Thank in advance for any guidance!

and what exactly are you paying for when getting the membership for simplenursing.com? I see that you can view Michael Linares videos for free on YouTube.

Good BOOK
Currently I do not work, but I do have two children and a long-term boyfriend. Also, I am learning at a distance (one hour from school). The website that you mentioned: does it provide lots of nclex style questions? That is what I have heard helps boost grades the most. I don't do a study group right now for the sole reason that I am so far away and hate that I have the feeling of being neglectful to my babies I'm really not doing so bad, I have a solid 88 in all of my nursing classes....I just really want to get it over that 2 pt hump so I can be an A student again.

Good BOOK
Hello all: I am a first semester nursing student. I am really struggling with acceptance since being in nursing school: acceptance that I am no longer an A student, BUT I want to be an I am willing to continue to try even though at times I feel 100% defeated. I've YouTubed and looked around/asked around for ideas to improve my nursing grades, and I have heard a lot about getting a NCLEX review book to boost my scores. SOOOO anybody know of some titles that are worth paying for? I would like to find a book that will help with individual topics/courses AS WELL AS help me prepare for the NCLEX in two years. I've heard a lot about Saunders. Just want to make sure I get the best deal for my money. THANKS IN ADVANCE!
