  1. I had an interview at Spring Harbor and the new grad rate I was offered was 23.50/hr
  2. What is the new grad salary? I am coming down from maryland for an interview. Also, what units would you suggest to interview with?
  3. What is the average new grad rate in Portland hospitals? Does specialty influence rate?
  4. Exams take up an entire class. Youll only have class after if there were holidays that interfere with the schedule. Also you get a minute for each question plus 20 minutes
  5. Yes they do. They schedule you. They just enrolled us for second semester.
  6. Yes you do. So along with the module before you test you will have a dosage lab. Teachers will be available to help you then. Also you have 4 chances to pass I only knew people that only needed two times. A lot of people failed for improper labeling or rounding.
  7. The dosage class is just self paced modules in black board and then abut 4 weeks in you have a timed dosage test 20 basic math question. D/h x Q dosage over have time quantity.
  8. If you only do the 3 nursing classes it's 9 credits so you get 3/4 time
  9. You need to file for fafsa. They'll send you're financial need to Ccbc and then Ccbc will tell you what you're eligible for. Loans max out at 10500.
  10. No you won't owe anything at orientation unless you want to preorder your uniform But if you go to Flynn and o hara. There's one in Towson. You'll probably get it fast and if you pick it up there it's free shipping. Once I find my cpr card I'll tell you the name Of The woman who does very cheap certifications. At orientation they'll tell you when everything needs to be turned in. I have a post somewhere that listed some other things to remember when it was fresher in my mind so look at my older post too.
  11. Also they re iterate how influential working is in success. The more you work the lower grades you get.
  12. Nothing really. They tell you what to expect what other graduates have to say. There will be more before school begins. There's one for fundamentals itself. Be prepared for for a large expense for all materials required.
  13. I'm about to finish my first semester at Ccbc Essex. It definitely gets crazy and id suggest to work as little as possible. The people who had busy lives struggled more than ones that had more available time to dedicate to school. You have class mon tues and Wednesday and then lab Thursday or Friday and then at week 9 you'll start clinical on Thursday and Friday. You'll be in long term care for 4 days and acute care which is in the hospital for 6 days. It goes by fast. Also as cliche as it is nursing exams are different than general education classes. It's application based. And to be successful in fundamentals. Study the power points and take good notes. Good luck guys!
  14. I saw that one of my friends got an acceptance letter to the Essex day program today.
  15. Fingers crossed for you. That's exciting. Keep me posted!
  16. It goes fast and be prepared. So glad it's almost over lol! Heard anything yet?
  17. Yes hopefully we'll meet next semester. Once you're accepted they drill it into your head how much work it is but there are a lot of resources available to you. But let me know if you get accepted. I'd just relax until May what's done is done and you have no control after you submit your app but you're taking the teas early enough you could retake the them so that's good. Good luck.
  18. Math was my strongest too I got a 100 if you take your time with math I'm sure you'll be able to get a 100 too. Science is very large in the topics expected to know. I think if you do pretty well on teas you'll be fine. They results will be ready 1-3 days after you take it mine was available next day. It compares you with the country and the other people that applied to ccbc
  19. What is your gpa and have you completed all pre reqs?
  20. Gpa 2.83 and teas 87. I did very well on math and every semester we have dosage test we need to score a 95 on in order to move forward. This semester we have 4 chances to pass the test. Did you study for the teas? What are your strong subjects.
  21. Well for the spring acceptance we found out 4-5 weeks after the deadline but I've noticed fall acceptance is almost the full 8 weeks. It is true you will have a seat fee a day or two before you receive your letter. You'll have a $200 balance on Simon. You'll get a packet of what to expect with deadlines and an orientation date. What is expected is certification of basic life support at a healthcare provider level a physical you'll need health insurance a drug test and background check and a little extra things but they'll elaborate at orientation. The first semester is 3 classes first is nurn 153 that's 6 credits it's fundamentals you will have lab for the first 8 weeks and then 2 weeks of clinical in long term care and 3 weeks in acute care and those will be on Thursday and Friday of each week. Then there is nurn 129 it's about professionalism and then nurn 155 is more clinical instruction but it's in a lab. Youll have class every day of the week except the weeks before clinicals begin. You'll need to buy uniforms but you'll get an order form at orientation you'll need a watch with a second ticker and white leather shoes. You'll need a stethoscope pen light forceps and scissors but they will be available from the uniform store. The necessary books you'll need will cost 1000+. Tutition for me this semester was 1812 and all the other expenses add up. The tools are like 70 a drug ftest and background check is 70 you need to buy Typhon which cost 50 you'll need the flu shot and the cpr certification will be 60-100 there's a separate other tool kit for the labs and that's like 70 too. I can't think anything else on the top of my head but I'll answer any questions you have to the best of my Ability.
  22. Like learned about my application experience or the material we will be learning in class?
  23. Yes. If I remember correctly you need to sign up through ATI there is a testing center named psi I believe. Its off of falls road. There are other locations to take it but they are in like Montgomery county.
  24. What details are you interested in?
