You will all probably hate me for this
:yes:Thank you SO much for saying this! Too many times I've had the desire to ask a question I really wanted to post on here, but was afraid because of how quick the responders are to judge and bash. It's quite discouraging...

Which path to choose?...
Considering your location, I would say the LPN program. It's not extremely long and is a way to start working while still going through school for a much longer program. But read up on job postings as if you were already licensed so you know what to expect in your area for employment. However, since your true passion is to become a medical Doctor, you need to be pursuing that. School is very expensive and can become overwhelming over time depending on what life throws at you, so you should work towards what you plan on doing as your ultimate career. Just my two cents. Good Luck! NaeLPN PS- That was a lot of personal information given on a public site that will remain for years to come. Not wise or needed to add it in.

Bullied at work
This type of bullying happens more than it should in this profession and unless the threats and allegations can be proved, which isn't always easy, there isn't much that some facilities are willing to do. As for your position, I would not ever quit a job without a replacement. You did not get her fired, her actions did. So you need to have a meeting with the powers that be for your personal safety and to be more clear about the situation: not discreet. The CNA's threatening you aren't tip toeing around, and you shouldn't either. As for safety from being jumped when walking to your car after work for example, please have security escort you, regardless of the shift. You should not have to be in fear in any job.

Dealing with Difficult Patients
Yikes! Please pray before and during and after these shifts! I would definitely make sure I document EVERY thing, and have a witness around for any conversations I have to have with him. I would be over the top ivory-white-tower professional and meticulous with my care. NO personal or opinionated conversations with or even remotely around him, strictly work & patient care related conversations only. I would have my poker face on so he wouldn't know if anything bothered me that he said that was offensive. Some manipulative people love to get charged up and start on a new target. Do not engage him. Please be on your P's and Q's and remember this is only a shift. It will end soon, you can and will get through this! Good luck and God bless! NaeLpn

Saw an angry clinical instructor...
I am SO glad you spoke up!!! Those students are in a position where they are being bullied! This is also Horizontal Violence!!!! I sincerely hope the Nursing School Instructor is dealt with accordingly & this is not just swept under the rug because of who she is or how long she's been at the school.

Why did you decide to become a nurse?
My concern for the well being of people led me to Nursing. I became a Nurse because I am such a sincerely caring and helpful person. I help anyone and everyone, even strangers. So being able to do this as a career was ideal! People always come to me with concerns and health questions and I take pride in knowing I played a small part in their progress. So now, I'm omw to earn my RN so I can do even more!
