  1. CCuser your positivity is infectiously beautiful. I love it!! I really wish there were more posts out there like this. I really can't thank you enough!! Just the thought of knowing furthering my career is still an option on the table is a big relief! Thank you so much and God bless you!!
  2. CCuser, this post is heaven sent!!!!!! I am so glad I found this post, I just wish I had found it a year and a half ago!!! This is the positivity I've been searching for!!!! It warms my heart to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. All I read is negativity on this site and a bit of positivity is quite refreshing. What gets me is once the bad portion is posted most nurses do not give updates on their progress which leaves one wondering what happened. Thank you once again for confirming that although it will be difficult, a reprimand is NOT a career death sentence.
  3. I'm sorry I am so delayed in responding but thank you CCuser. That really gives me hope for the future. I really appreciate your input
  4. In a perfect world.......... Unfortunately they happen why because we're not perfect. It just takes a big person to admit it. Like the title said if you believe you never made one you never realized or you're probably lying to yourself
  5. AMZYRN, if I were you I would not totally rely on the scanning system. I made a med error using the scanning system. I scanned the meds and administered them without the "med too soon" alert appearing but they were already given by another nurse without my knowledge.
  6. Jory, I agree 100%. There should be some sort of categorization from minor to serious violations. There should be a way to start free and clear after a certain amount of time. I currently work at a women's prison and there is a woman who is there for script forgery, who is going to attempt to get her license back once she gets out of prison but yet there is no differentiation between violations so she is in the same boat as diverters, HIPPA violatiors and such. At the end of the day, employees do not care what the reprimand was a reprimand is reprimand regardless of the circumstance. As long as you have that scarlet letter on your back it'll be a constant uphill battle. At least in the legal system you are able to expunge your record and gain a fresh start. It's really a shame. And I could be wrong but I'm noticing a lot of displinary action comes out of Ohio.
  7. Wow! That's wonderful! Glad to hear it was only a year, I'm sure it went by relatively fast compared to what it could have been. Wow thank you for sharing. I really appreciate it :-)
  8. Poppycat thank you for your input!! So they only needed to report on you for a year? Did you have to complete classes as well? If so, how was that?
  9. Hello all! I am aware that people tend to post when they are venting/ griping but I am in search for some positivity. Is there anyone out there who received a reprimand (no restrictions) from their BON that ended well when presented to their current employer? It seems that every post that I've come across thus far deals with nurses who had to get a new job after receiving a reprimand which understandably is difficult but what about those who already acquired a job before judgement was passed from the BON? When the judgement was presented to your current employer what happened? It is my understand a reprimand may deal with taking classes and monitoring from the employer, how did that go? I refuse to believe a reprimand is an automatic end to a nurse's career! There are hoards of nurses who go before the Ohio BON and I refuse to believe all of those nurses' careers are over. Just like POOF! Desperately searching for some positivity. Thanks
  10. I'm glad your story had a happy ending. Hope you're still doing well.
