UT Health Spring 2018 FNP
No. :/ I did read a post from an allnurses discussion of a previous cohort and the student received her acceptance letter around Thanksgiving!! That seems so late. Most schools have already sent out their acceptance letters by now.

UT Health Spring 2018 FNP
I was checking out some of the other threads and noticed that UTHSC-Houston's BSN applicants started receiving their acceptance letters October 26th. Hopefully we hear something soon (or didn't get passed up! lol).

I will definitely post on here with any updates I have! Did either of you attend one of the info sessions? I'm curious how many students they accept each cohort.

UT Health Spring 2018 FNP
When I called for information in September, I was told we would be informed by mid-November. Looking back at some of the allnurses forums, it seems like last year's applicants were being informed of their admission status at this time. I'm guessing Hurricane Harvey may have caused some delays in the application review process this year.

Yes, I did have that problem. I called the help desk about it and was given the website to go to. It's apply.uth.tmc.edu Let me know if that one works for you!

UT Health Spring 2018 FNP
Hi! I applied for the Spring 2018 FNP program as well. My rec letters were late by a couple of days but my application status shows that it is under review. I'm hoping that means they are considering my application despite that! Have you heard anything back yet?

Sanford in Fargo
BON just received my affidavit of graduation on Monday, so hopefully I'll have my ATT within a week. That was the turnaround for the students from my school who were lucky enough to have had theirs submitted before the holiday break. My tentative start date is Jan 25th, so long as I am licensed by then.

Sanford in Fargo
I will be on 2S, the cardiac progressive care unit. Whichone'spink, how do you enjoy working for Sanford? Do you feel like there are a lot of opportunities to pick up extra shifts (after I finish with orientation, of course). I'm hoping to save as much money as possible this year to save up for a home. Since I'll have a lot more free time than I'm used to, it'd be nice to be able to work a little extra.

Sanford in Fargo
Thank you for your reply, CNACJ! I accepted a position at Sanford, but I told my sister to look into Essentia Health for a medical coding position. I just wanted to update this with my experience so far. As far as the phone interviews went, they were all standard interview questions that can be found with a quick google search. Each interview started out with, "Why Fargo?" and "Tell me about yourself." They wanted to know about prior work history, strengths & weaknesses, and how I've handled difficult situations and conflicts with people in the past. I expected some situational medical questions but wasn't asked any, which may be because I'm a new grad with limited medical experience. I applied to several units within Sanford on October 23rd, received a call back from HR on the 27th and was told I qualify for 3 positions. She scheduled the interviews for me on November 4th which each lasted about 40 minutes to an hour. Two days later I received an offer for all three positions! I'll move to Fargo after I pass the NCLEX. I was told orientation lasts about six weeks and I'll participate in a New Grad Residency program that meets once a month for six months where we can discuss questions we have.

Sanford in Fargo
Hi everyone! I'm finishing up my last semester of school in Texas, then I plan to relocate somewhere. I've been considering different places but I think I've finally decided on Fargo. I am scheduled for a few interviews next week with Sanford and I have a ton of questions! I was wondering if anyone has advice on how to do well on a phone interview. Is anyone aware of how the hiring process works for an out-of-state new grad? I know new grads are hired in kind of a temporary position at some of the hospitals where I live before passing the NCLEX, and their permanent status is contingent upon licensure. Is that typical of North Dakota? Also, if you have any other useful information about Sanford or the Fargo area that you'd like to share, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Moving to Anchorage
Hi everyone, I should graduate in December and plan on moving to Anchorage soon after. I was wondering how the job market is for new grads and I'd greatly appreciate any advice for my future job search! I will only have an associate degree, which I know is a disadvantage, but I will start an RN-BSN program in January if all goes as planned. I do have four years experience as a medic in the army, but I'm not sure how far that will get me. Thanks in advance for your help!

Awesome! I just saw mine so I won't be able to schedule my appointment until Monday. It's great to finally get started on the rest of the admissions process, though!

I was accepted to the mobility track. Do you have any idea which hospitals we'll be doing our clinicals?

San Antonio College Spring 2015
Hi J3w3lz88, Congrats on your acceptance! I spoke to someone at the office last week who said they sent our names to BON on Tuesday. Friday will be the 10th day, but I'm not sure if she meant 10 business days. I'm hoping to hear back from SAC by the 11th. Also, I'm under the impression that we're just waiting on a code from BON to take with us to get the background check ourselves, but I'm not entirely sure. Have you already submitted all your other paperwork (BLS card, immunization record, insurance)? I don't live in the area so I'm waiting until my background check is complete before I make a trip down there with the rest of my paperwork.

No, I haven't talked to anyone. I don't live in the area and I find it difficult to get information from them by phone or email. Hopefully the school resolves those issues before the Spring! Good luck!!

Admission to San Antonio ADN Program - Chances based on GPA and Composite Score
Hi! Do you happen to know how the composite score is calculated? I repeated a science course that I withdrew from with a "W," so I'm wondering how that will affect my chances.
