  1. I'm curious as to how this semester turned out for you. Being that I am in the same boat and my anxiety is through the roof being under so much pressure .. That's if you don't mind sharing your outcome!
  2. I've heard California has a tough job market before. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Many of my regulars at my job where I bartend are also in the healthcare industry and want me to work with them when once I graduate but who knows how serious they are and what their requirements are. I know for sure all the hospitals are slowly trying not to hire ADNs unless they are trying to get their BSN in the near future (I'm sure it's the same as the contract mentioned above.) thanks for sharing all the input, perspective, and experiences!! I love this website for this reason. Immediate help from those who are knowledgeable :)
  3. Thank you the wonderful input! I felt like I was at a disadvantage since many of my classmates have some sort of medical background.
  4. This is very good to know! Also, if I graduate with my two year degree, I could still get a job while working on my BSN? Just in case I was confusing by asking about getting a job after graduation in general, I meant at the half way mark. Thank you again!
  5. I am starting nursing school in a few weeks and was wondering if I should get my CNA in between semesters? I'm worried I won't be able to get a job after graduation due to lack of experience. my school arranged clinical studies already on the first week of school and throughout the semesters (gradually getting more intense each term). Is this enough experience or should I do something extra? My program is an ADN program that seamlessly merges into a BSN program with no gaps (dual submission). Any feedback is helpful! Thank you!!
  6. Seeing that someone got in with the same score as you, you won't be waiting for long!
  7. Where are you wait listed at? My tip is to get everything on the checklist done anyway (cpr certification, immunization record) you can find the list under "new nursing student" on your schools website. So when your letter does come you can accept right away and not worry. I didn't do that and I wish I had. Just in case you happen to get a letter a week from orientation.
  8. 3 months for me! They send them out as spots open. I had an idea when mine was going to come because I knew someone from these forums with the exact score. She got accepted before me (higher score in science portion)
  9. You'll get in! It might be a long wait but people apply to multiple schools s there will be multiple declines!
  10. I'm excited for you all! Century's letter arrived on the 18th the last round and I think that's the latest any school will do. The wait was terrible and I stalked the mailman (I wish I could attach the image I snapchatted). If you're above 11, you'll do fine!!
  11. Schools usually send it out ON the 15th. All except for Inver Hills. They were ahead of the game last semester.
  12. I got a letter for the fall program just last month. My score was 10.87, so be hopeful everyone! good luck to you all!!
  13. Well!!! I just got my letter for century! Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement! Anyone going to orientation in July, let me know so we can sit together :)
  14. Hi there! I applied to just century this round and am also on the waiting list for the fall start there. So here's to double the wait! Haha. And I think your score is more than good enough. The fall cohort is sometimes more competitive and someone with a 10.8 made it in last round to ARCC so you have a pretty great chance. Good luck to you all!
  15. So for the fall program there's a list of things I need to do and turn in before June first and orientation is on July 22nd. Do I have to do everything even when I'm still on the waiting list?
