Congrats! I took the teas but what I can tell you is to make sure you take a&p 1 and 2 before you start nursing 1! Nursing school is another world of thinking! Best of luck and study study study!!!! Also make sure to get A's and B's in your pre reqs!

Hi rudybrklyn! congrats on your acceptance! I just finished N1. I would highly suggest not buying older editions of any nursing books. Although the information is practically the same, a lot of students struggled in my class that had older editions. For example, some students had older dosage calculations textbooks and were unable to follow homeworks and classworks. Also, you will need codes that are on each textbook on the inside cover. You will need all of these books for all four semesters so it is definitely worth the investment. The he books we used for Nursing one were: taylors fundamentas of nursing eighth edition dosage calculation by grey medical surgical nursing by brunner and suddarth 13th edition fundamentals of nursing lab companion by Lynn

yea I know like the bed baths, making the bed...etc. I feel the skills book is so similar to the regular text book. what do you think? just a little more in depth. this week I worked on ch. 1 of med-surg, did the fundamental lecture readings, and did the pharmacology workbook. I wonder what is going to happen with our schedule now that we missed a clinical day and a lab and lecture day.

hey! yea I think yesterday was the day we were supposed to meet in the auditorium to have the meeting with the people from Kaplan so they could explain to us how to use it. I think that was yesterday. tomorrow is just 6-10 then right?

Hey! haha yeah im confusedddd! im so nervous that because of Saturday we are behind too. well it looks like a blizzard...so I wonder if we are having class Tuesday? is Tuesday lab? are we all meeting for just 1 lab? at 4pm? or 8pm? and this Tuesday are we having that Kaplan meeting at 6 instead of lecture?

Hey guys do you have any idea about the "online activities that are due for fundamentals lecture? On the syllabus for week 1 it says "see instructions for weekly online activities. See Moodlerooms for activity of week". I saw the instructions on the PDF link but I thought we weren't using Davis...and I don't see any activities posted. I was hoping it would be said today in class but snow day! Enjoy the day!

Hey guys sorry! I don't know why I sometimes get an email notification and then other times I don't! Thanks so much for the info for IHI! Ok so I too thought all the IHI stuff was due and I sent her the certificate but then i went back to the course objectives this afternoon and it says on the right jan 24. I guess the "2 montefiore days" are the days starting next week where we stay at montefiore for two Saturday's to learn skills before we go for the nursing home. Maybe do it just in case. I think I was sitting right in front of you Kevin and Mirla I'm pretty sure I remember you sitting two rows away!!! I'll see you guys tomorrow!

Hi Badcooliebwoy thank you! that worked right away and i was able to log onto moodle. ok so the IHI...i think it is on the PREP U "the point" disk. I am going to try it right now...have you had any luck wih doing the IHI? i was unable to see the IHI's due on moodle as well. please let me know if you have any luck!

I know! I still can't log on! I hope there was nothing that we needed but I doubt it. It seems that they sent us everything we need! I can't believe we start in almost 4 days!!!

Hi Badcooliebwoy! On the revised welcome letter that was sent out there was a paragraph at the bottom that said to read chapters 1,2,3,4,8,23,26,30,3,ad 35 for fundamentals. Read chapters 1-9 for math plus do the quizzes, and read pharmacology chapters 2,4,38, and 53. I wasn't sure if all these readings where due the 10th or the actual first week of classes.

I hope everyone has a great new year...only 12 days left!!! Have any of you started the homework? Is it due on the 10th?

I called the school and they said that this book list is in fact for the entire two years, so I guess renting is out of the question. I did find a few books to be a bit cheaper at barns and noble. I am not sure if you guys are members at barns and noble but even if you aren't you should subscribe to their emails and they send like 25% off coupons almost every other week. if you are a member you get an extra 10% off. So I bought the nurses pocket guide: diagnoses, prioritized intervention and rationales at barns and noble and got it for 35% off. I also bought the NCLEX-RN notes: content review and exam prep for 10% off. I went online when I got home and ordered the last three books on the required list from barns and noble as well and used their coupon code for friends and family, I think its still online! the rest of the required books I just bought from where it was suggested to buy them on the sheet because of the coupon codes that where provided. I am just wanting the books so I can start! Less than a month ahhhh. Excited to meet all of you!!!
