Suny Downstate accelerated Program 2015-2016
Thanks for the update, Dinachka7! End of April, huh? I guess by then I'll have a better idea whether my decision to retake chemistry -- in case I need to reapply -- paid off or was money wasted.

Suny Downstate accelerated Program 2015-2016
Now I'm confused. Nobody asked me to submit any health documents. Nothing's come in the mail or by email, so I guess I'm going to call Downstate in the morning to see what's going on. Wish me luck?

Ranftlea, is that section new for you? Has it been there all along?

Suny Downstate accelerated Program 2015-2016
Hi everyone, I'm also on the waiting list for Downstate. Has anyone on the waiting list heard from them about a decision yet? I checked the website just now and noticed what I think is a new section (either it's new, or I just never noticed that I could scroll farther down the page) for forms, immunizations, lab stuff, etc., and I'm hoping it's significant. Anyone else have this section?

Stony Brook Accelerated Nursing Class of 2016
Also rejected (and no, I didn't have an interview). Congratulations to everyone who got in!

UB ABS 2015
Katehugs, I thought the average GPA was higher for the trad program, which is part of what scared me off applying. I've been saying no traditional programs because I wanted to finish quickly and get back to work, but at this point I should start looking at them because I could just as easily get rejected by accelerated programs next year, too, and then I'd have lost another year waiting. Pharm was okay. I lost points on the quizzes, where I never really learned to read all the choices before marking an answer, but overall I'm happy with how I did. I need to remember to have Cayuga send a transcript to UB. Lately, my brain is mush.

Thanks, jjmm! I'm glad I at least made the wait list. My grades are good, but not 4.0, and I really thought I'd get rejected. Best of luck to all of you who've been accepted!

Sigh... wait listed. They list my statistics class (from my old B.A.) as "pending" -- as if they're not sure it'll transfer. Thing is, I took it at UB! Otherwise, all my prereqs are now complete, and all I can do now to improve my chances is start retaking classes for better grades. Meantime, I'm going to try to get hired as a tech at the hospital where I volunteer, just in case the waiting list thing doesn't pan out for me.

I'm wait-listed, too. Do you know if we need to do anything to confirm our spots on the waiting list? (I suppose I could reread the letter to find out, huh?). Like you, I'd be happy to attend Niagara. The program seems well designed, with carefully chosen partners and a willingness to seek out new ones if we have a particular interest, plus it's sort of close to my parents' house, where I assume I'd be living during the program.

It's a little frustrating not knowing what to expect, grade-wise, for pharmacology, since right now all I have to go on is my quiz grades. I don't understand why the professor would do that to herself, leave all the grading go until the end of the semester. Has anyone here heard anything yet from UB, other than an email to say that the application was received?

UB ABS 2015
Pharmacology is the last of the prereqs for me -- I've finished all the others. If I get rejected, I'll have to assume it's because of my chemistry grade.

UB ABS 2015
Thanks, 3hamsomelette! The online format of the class makes it kind of hard to figure out what's important, and since there are no exams before the final I have no idea what to expect the questions to be like. And good luck to you! Since nursing is a career change for most of us, what were you all doing before this?

Eeep! I have a phone interview with Niagara next Thursday, and no idea what sorts of questions they tend to ask. I'm assuming the usual (why nursing, why this school), but if anyone can give me an idea what to expect I'd really appreciate it.

I think for the last two modules, I posted my discussions on Thursday or Friday, and I can't remember whether I commented on anything. I still need to print the SGA and get it bound, and I should probably start making a spreadsheet of drugs for easier review later on. Right now, I always feel like I have so many things to do, I can't decide which one to start/finish first.
