Run and don't look back. It's a for profit school. Southwest is only 4 semesters. Nothing but bad stories from Concorde and their students struggle to past the NCLEX after multiple attempts.

Thanks sooo much. I'll definitely take your advice on that! I've already planned a family vacation for a couple days after exam season, just in case I do get in. I'm sure it's rough and will need to make up for lost time. Thanks for your input. Good Luck on becoming a clinical instructor. It would be really cool to learn from others whom shared your same journey previously.

Hi nikkih901. Would you mind sharing your 1st semester experience if you did the night/weekend program. Is there anything that stands out that you wish you would have known before hand? Did you work, have family responsibilities, etc? Your input is greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Great thanks for the update. When I spoke with Mrs. L weeks ago she jokingly said she would love for us to know before Thanksgiving. That way we could inform our families that school books, equipment, etc would make good Christmas gifts. If nothing else..........based on past boards, I assume we are the most inpatient group thus far :) My index is Mid 60's but doesn't truncate the anxiety at all.

Hey how do you know the decision has been made? Also the secretary is out all week.

No I haven't heard anything yet on acceptance. Hopefully soon.

Oh and a durable pen light. Of course all of these things will be offered for sale there, but I'm sure it's cheaper to buy everything else where.

No there is no color required for that or the blood pressure cuff. My scope is orange being UT Alumna I couldn't pass it up lol. The shoes must be all white with closed back. I asked the guy I bought my books from. Unless something has changed I'm going with that.

I'm willing to get in the car and drive to the next class. Thinking about the cold at night gives me goosebumps. Lol. Hopefully they will take into account our safety & warmth.

When I asked they told me the open house with guided tour is invitation only. Maybe they are separate? Good to know. I'll try to leave work early and Check it out. Thanks.

That's part of the invitation only open house that current students mentioned earlier.

I figured we wouldn't especially with all the things they have on their plate presently, open house etc. We've waited a month, with Thanksgiving, time will fly.......then the fun begins. I just want to make sure I get a certain schedule.

Thanks for the positive spin on it ykj77!!! Definitely learning to go with the flow, just not so easy with a toddler...but I am ready to rock n roll whenever I find out what's going on.

I spoke with Ms. L and was told that all foundations clinical would be in Methodist facilities. I asked to make to make sure I choose a Methodist CRN, because they are paying for my tuition, etc.

Oh that's terrible. I'm a planner...seems I should brace myself for palpitations with last minute changes and constantly waiting. Thanks unionnurse12.

it's much worse than fall because the deadline gives us wayyyy less time before the start of classes all while dealing with the holiday season. If we are informed on 12/1 that gives us less than 2 months before class. In the Fall you were alerted IN April then had the whole summer to prepare, etc.
