  1. What state do you live in? Our window is from now until April. I so feel your pain!!!
  2. Thank you for your replay. I am nervous...because this is something I really feel that I would be good at - and even though I have worked in the medical field for a long time, I have been an RN for only a short time. I am afraid that I don't have all the experience that I need. I have not worked med-surg. The facility does have its share of acute needs, but probably not the same as a hospital experience. All I know is I do have all the heart and compassion. Thanks again!
  3. I am interviewing for a hospice nurse position tomorrow. I am presently a Nurse Manager in Longterm care. I haven't been a Nurse for very long, but I know that I very much want to do Hospice Nursing. Its like an ache in my gut that I can't put into words, but know this is something I should do. I am a compassionate person with a faith that there is more beyond this life. Can anyone give me words of wisdom or a way to put into words when they ask that question....Why do you want to be a Hospice Nurse. Thank you!!
  4. I graduated in May and just passed NCLEX 1st try. I was an older student 46. My advice is study, read and really listen to your instructors advice. Things in life will have to take a back seat for awhile, but the outcome will be so worth it. Let the dust bunnys roll across your floor for awhile and a let your family support you and also say prayers....it help me when I was feeling low and stressed out. Good luck to you!!
  5. Congratulations to you RN!! Now you can relax a little bit and CELEBRATE!! :Melody: :rotfl:
  6. hi liz..i took my nclex on wednesday and got my results exactly 48 hours later (friday). i to had 75 questions- prioritizing, infection control, select all that apply, ob, peds and drug..whew! but i passed and am now an rn. and, i felt horrible when i left the test...i graduated also magna cum laude but after taking the test i felt low, low, low. remember, you have all that theory in your head from school, and did well. you'll feel like you are second guessing, but that critical thinking is there. i don't think anyone feels great after leaving the exam area. have faith, and as easy as it sounds find something relaxing to do that will occupy the time...it helped me. at 10pm the night before getting results, i was shampooing my living room rug...it help the time spent thinking. all may good thoughts and wishes are with you. hope that you have success in your results and let us all know how you made out!!!!
  7. Thank you so much...Its a frightful thing...preNCLEX...my stomach is still settling done! My good thoughts and wishes for success on Monday....remember to read and breath!! Let me know how you make out!!! GOOD LUCK!!
  8. sue a replied to raywelby's topic in NCLEX Exam, Programs
I can truly relate, I took the exam on Wednesday and walked out feeling devastated! But I found out today that I passed. The hardest is telling you to try to relax because I know how difficult it is, but take care of yourself - go shopping like I did and try to think good thoughts. Best wishes and luck to you.
  9. just want to let you know i passed!!! its a terrible feeling walking out from the exam...but then there is definetely celebration. good luck to all who are taking it...my thoughts and prayers are with you. it feels great. finally an rn!!! :biggringi :rotfl: :roll
  10. Took RN NCLEX yesterday. This is the worst waiting. The computer shut off at 75. Lots of priority, pick all that apply and one question I never heard of the drug or disease! I walked out feeling comfortable with only two questions, the rest I just don't know. I did great in school and did well on NCLEX studies but I feel I just wasn't prepared for this. I have been checking this site and everyone seems so supportive. Its hard for other people to understand this stress. Please think good thoughts for me!!
