  1. Thank you!
  2. I hear you Rose... I graduated with a 3 year diploma in 1978....did you go forward with GCU?
  3. Thank you Ranch! Much appreciated. As I age, I may want to move to another state. Many states require a BSN now... Colorado for instance. I am not in a financial situation where I can retire, nor do I think I want to. Even older, I think I will need a part time job because, I am not surrounded by lots of family. Or outside interests... I try, but I guess you can call me an introvert/extrovert... I just read it is one who can be very social, talk to ppl, etc... (for me esp in nursing).... But I need my space and quiet time.
  4. Have looked at WGU... and I know it is a great program. However, for some reason I am drawn to GCU.
  5. I have always wanted it. I had to put said ex thru Master's School, raise children and give up everything as he was gone months at a time. Now, I want it.
  6. All I have done is ruminate over what I should do for two years. By now I would be done. I don't think I have the energy but I have to do something as I feel like I am strangling here, I need to learn...
  7. How many folks do you all find posting that are over 55? The age thing is holding me back.
  8. thank you for your response.....
  9. Have tried everything.. to use my 30 years of knowledge... can't find it.
  10. Has been quiet here. First, as I have observed, everyone is happy but me. What is the missing link, lol! I moved to a new job, thinking it was the perfect place. No. I really am confused about starting BSN or just making sandwiches at McDonalds...... Did Rob finish? Did it go ok for him. I know Derk did super....???
  11. Wanted to challenge you... you still came thru with flying colors!
  12. Ah, and as said previously everyone has their own take on instructors, courses, etc...
  13. Can not tell if my comment posted or not.. Thank you Flames. Sounds like overall ppl are still happy.
  14. Wow the capstone change is huge. More expectation?
  15. Hi! How is everyone? My daughter's wedding is over and my Dad is doing well... thinking I may start this month. Any GCU news? How are things going for the current students? Tok, you went on?? You are amazing.
  16. And I should not have used the word "just"... not even sure I can do that.
  17. Ok, I have put this off for 2 years. Grieving that I did not just jump in. I think I want to ride donkey down into the canyon for school. lol. If I do go back, should I do a 3 year RN to MSN? or just a BSN?
  18. Hello All, some of you may remember me as PinkDonkey.... remember those donkey rides down into the canyon to get to school? lol! I have been working full time for some time in medical review for the military overseas....I am finding myself extremely exhausted. That is what held me back from starting. I am happy to hear so many are having good experiences. If I want to do this I have to go part time. I don't know what is wrong with me but I sleep 14 hours a night each day of the weekend. Getting old!
  19. No, it has been too many things. I spoke with one student in the OTHER class that I am not really in, she said I am the only one that responded to her. And I am the one NOT in her group/class!! No one has even started the final assignment... She thought I would help her.. I was in another class!!
  20. Comedy of errors, not so funny. lol! So I started. Was happily doing my DQ, getting to know my group. All of a sudden started getting messages from ppl who were not in my group, wondering why I wasn't posting. Found out I had been put in two sessions of the same class. Reported to counselor. Told it was taken care of. Entered the other session, saw all kinds of messages about how I was not posting, ppl were reporting me, etc. Oh my... Wish I could laugh but I just can't. It had not been taken care of, nor had the instructor been told.
  21. Please don't tell me this is a southern Baptist crowd?
  22. Bad things happen... he is there to comfort us.
  23. Seriously, are you kidding Winter? How horrid.
  24. I do think nurses can be each other's enemies. As Rob said, I plan to disregard. I will follow my own path. And I don't think I will even tell anyone. I have one best RN friend that I trust. Otherwise, no one gets it anyway. So why bother.
  25. I am scheduled to start this week. Thank you Rob for such a kind and thoughtful note. I was going to pass, but then I looked around at who I work with, their mentalities... and I just need more. I am not trying to make myself feel superior, I just do. I have written my responses to the two discussion questions and have done the reading. Not sure how many I have to respond to? Is it 2 or 4 a week? On which days? I got my new kitten a new kitten yesterday for company. I won't always be home or available to run around with a mouse at the end of a wand! So far getting along well. This is all in preparation for many hours of school work. Felicity is jealous of the kittens.
