  1. Thanks for the helpful sites. I passed dose cal with an 87 and hoping for 100% this next year.
  2. Thanks for your response. I have been looking around but have not come up with a better program than that one at Covenant. All I have heard about Covenant is bad but like you say, "12 months is not that long" but, if your unhappy, it could feel like 36 months LOL. I was thinking about calling some of the nursing homes and see if they could help me out with some of the expense's if I signed with them. I was really wanting the hospital experience though. I guess we can't always get our own way. I am just happy that I got into school. Take care nanie
  3. I am going to south plains College this coming Jan 07. Covenant will pay up to 2,500 toward my LVN program if I will signup to work for them 1 yr. I was wondering if anyone had some advice about the sign on with Covenate? If anyone has some advice for me on the LVN program, I would love to hear from them. I am going to take the LVN to RN after I have worked one year as a LVN. Thanks nanie

  8. I have been going to the Mt. San Jacinto College Here in California. I just do not want to wait until Jan of 2007 to start the LVN program here @ MSJC, What if I don't get in to the class of 12 students they will pick. I can start LVN school here at summit this coming June, 5! Can anyone tell me if this is the way to go? The test I took was called "Accuplacer." for Math this site was helpful: http://math.com/students/practice.html This accuplacer site helped me see what I needed to work on: http://www.testprepreview.com/accuplacer_practice.htm :balloons: Good Luck, I start my LVN program in June. Mary
  10. Hi Princess 74. I just wanted to say good luck to you! I took my dosage calulation class pre-test in Jan, I made a 52 on it. On the retake, I made a 72, I needed a 75 to stay in the class. I am now retrying on the 29th for another dosage calc class. I am 54 and trying my best to get into the LVN program this coming Jan 07. this site as well as the dosage calc book has helped me http://math.com/students/practice.html Good Luck To you. Mary Prince
  11. I am going to check these site out. I have my dosage calulation class test this Wed. 29th. Any advice welcome! thanks Mary
  12. I can tell you about Texas and how it works. I checked into the free CNA training there. You go to 16 hours classroom training and after the 16 hours you start working in a Nursing home for the elderly. You continue going to class one or two times a week until you have the hours to take the CNA state test. The home pays you while you are training and working. I moved to California and its a whole new ball game. I am in a CNA course now while taking A&P and English. If you don't have the CNA, it is harder to get into the LVN program here, you have to have the English and A&P also. While waiting for the LVN board to decide if I can get into the program, I will be working on my RN preQ's. I am a late starter in life, 53 and a displaced housewife, to boot. Thanks God you are planning on a life besides rearing kids and staying home. I hope you find the CNA program you are looking for.
  13. Thank you all for your support and kind words. It is a big help just knowing someone else felt the same way I am feeling now.
  14. I have been working at getting into LVN school. I am so worried I will get started and funk out. Is it true, you have to keep at lest a 70 with no room for error? Was there a 2nd chance if someone funked a test in @ your LVN school? Thanks for any advice?
