Its been 3 weeks now since our new psych nurses in training joined us in the unit although they are fully oriented about the policy and physical setup im not sure if they already know how to handle psych patients on their own especially decision making and crisis management on the unit, now my question is how can i teach them without stepping on their stress buttons? and what concerns me most is that our unit is specializing on addiction and rehab and to be honest these kind of patients are very manipulative and has tendencies of emotional withdrawals which can blow up anytime if they encounter a trigger, i just dont want them to be outsmarted by our patients nurse.Esteve

Hi guys just wanna ask do you massage the site on or after when injecting sustenna IM for schizophrenia? Some books teach us never massage an IM site. Just wondering cause I just saw a co staff of mine massaged the site, was that ok? nurse.Esteve

Just got home from the orientation and it was awesome... we tour around the hospital and tomorrow will be tackling on alcoholism and commonly abused drug... So happy and a bit xcited nurse.Esteve

Try "have you been in a hospital due to a medical condition before?" Or where you admitted to a hospital due to unresolved medical condition? Coz the point here is they will remember their hospitalization and then when they do you can start dig deeper info. It works for me nurse.Esteve

I tried searching it two days ago the only thing i found is from nursing times and states OHN: why nurses dont prefer occupational health nursing as a career. An article which they made 2 years ago i think and a study on OHNs contribution in the workplace. nurse.Esteve

Well kinda been wondering why do they always feature hospital nursing or nurses in the hospital. i havent found any article on non hospital nurses like come on were nurses too!.. I swear i had same experience but not for employment. What i did i just raise my voice to make sure that person heard me clearly....oh yeah i remember now it was when my uncle got sick and i was so stress keep calling the nurses for hours when i went to the station the nurse was busy and totally ignored me. And i kinda calculated everything if i was wrong but NO i asked for their assistance for 2 hours already they keep saying they will come in a minute but none of them showed up so out of my fury i went to the station calmly told them that i need an assistance to move my uncle in the bed but with kind of a face "they dont wanna mess with". nurse.Esteve

Still waiting for their call last time they were still finishing up the building. Its a newly built hotel so im really hoping i will get the job. Right now i pass a resume to a manufacturing company that produce top carrageenan products and supplies the F&B industry.and when i got there they wanted me to apply also to their sister company. So its like two birds in one stone. I really wanna focus on OHnsg. From an emergency nurse enthusiast to OHN is really a big leap for me... Gudluck to me and thanks regards to all nurse.Esteve

There should be an ethical way in handling company interviews. Ex. Taking time to at least text back if you didnt get the job saying" thank you for you time and effort but unfortunately...etc" you know things like that. This will make you to move on and search anew... nurse.Esteve

Well they have around 47 regular nsg. Staff as a primary hospital and could need some manpower but instead hiring nurses they kinda gave the nsg.aids some additional task nurse.Esteve
