  4. This is my first clinical ever and I'm going to be in a hospice! I'm just wondering how it is for experienced nurses already working in hospice. I'm kind of nervous. I know I won't be doing as much as you all but just any advice would be appreciated. I currently volunteer in a vascular/Neuro unit but I don't do much ( just talk with the patients check bed alarms and paper work). I'm nervous but excited to be in my first clinical setting it's been a long process getting here and I'm ready Just a little background about myself uneasy first in school for criminal justice, but while in school I fell ill and had open heart surgery. I had the best nurses anyone could ask for. I was 18 and each and every nurse i had left a huge impact. I still speak with one of my nurses and this was 7 years ago. I'm now 25 and ready to treat patients how I was treated. That experience changed my life for the better. Thanks!!!
  5. Congratulations!!! I was also accepted into nursing school!!!!! I start September 2nd and I've been anxious and excited!!! My job is pretty lenient and I will only for about 16 hours a week!! I just was accepted to volunteer 3 and a half hours at the hospital I want to work at when I finish. I have a daughter starting kindergarten so I'm ready to see how this semester plays out. I have my cpr certification class on Wednesday and I'm also excited about that.... Sorry about my rant I'm just ready!!!
  6. I was just admitted to start in September!!! I have a 3.5 gpa and have friends with much higher gpas not get admitted. I think there are many factors that go along with being accepted.. Not just your gpa.
  7. Congrats! Thanks for all the information you shared. I'll just be starting my nursing program in the Fall and I'm a bit nervous but excited!!! I've been told to enjoy this time before it starts, and also to brush up on some physiology. I have while before I take the exam but should I wait till closer to the end of nursing school to get Kaplan?
