Passed Nclex 1st Attempt Thanks To U-World & La Charity PDA
No I didn't do the case studies for La Charity just the questions for each chapter. I was freaking out when doing U-World because with each test I was mid 50's low 60's. I think your doing well in that range, U-World is hard! Good Luck on NCLEX...I really feel like U-World and La Charity is enough to prepare you for NCLEX

Passed Nclex 1st Attempt Thanks To U-World & La Charity PDA
First off I would like to thank those who posted on the NCLEX forum giving their reviews on U-World & La Charity PDA because of you I saved a ton of money! I graduated from Nursing School Dec 2015, my school was Pro Kaplan and swore by it! Two weeks before graduation I started looking on this forum and kept hearing great things about U-World & La Charity PDA. My school was able to get us a student discount for the Kaplan course but it was still very expensive so I decided to go with the U-World 1 month subscription and La Charity PDA online through Evolve both for under $100 dollars. I studied the whole month of January, everyday I did between 75-150 questions from U-world and one test from La Charity, I did all the questions and wrote down all the rationales for the questions I got wrong and the ones I guessed on and re-read those rationales. U-world is no joke! To me the questions were challenging and some were very tricky, especially the SATA, it seemed like I would always miss one. My average scores for U-World were 50's-60's and my overall average after doing all the questions in the q-bank was 61%. With La Charity PDA my average scores were 60's-70's. I took the NCLEX Saturday morning, when going through the questions I felt like they were pretty straight forward and definitely not as hard as U-World, maybe U-World & La Charity prepared me well. I had about 15 SATA, 1 Drag n Drop, 1 Med question and the rest were Priority & Delegation, after I submitted question 81 the screen went blue and took me to the survey. I went home and did the PVT trick (even though I said I wouldn't) got a good pop up, did it again Sunday night and got another good pop up, paid for quick results this morning and officially found out I passed! I'm on cloud nine right now! All my hard work paid off! U-World is the bomb.com so is La Charity, I definitely recommend these two resources for NCLEX, you don't need to spend a whole bunch of money on NCLEX prep courses.

Paralyzing Fear!!!
Like a previous poster said If I can pass the dosage calculation tests anyone can!!! I've always struggled with math but what helped me was DosageHelp.com and I learned dimensional analysis, which I love!!! I wanted to be a Nurse since 16 and what always held me back was I thought I couldn't succeed because of the math, now I know dosage calculation tests are the least of my worries LOL

Need Advice on Clinical Instructor
Update: You all were right! I talked with my Instructor and she explained to me she hasn't checked in on me as much because she saw I was confident week one, she also said that the Nurses and Tech's have said the same thing, I'm confident but that I don't hesitate to ask questions. I feel so much better! This week was great! My patient was a Nurse for 25 years but didn't tell me until I was leaving for the day, she told me I'm going to be a great nurse! I'm so happy that I'm finally pursuing my dream!!! Thanks again to everyone!!!

Need Advice on Clinical Instructor
Thanks for the advice, I have looked at this whole situation another way, I feel confident in what I've learned so far and if I have questions I don't hesitate to ask a tech, or the nurse that is assigned to my patient, both have been very helpful. I guess I want some type of feedback when actually doing a skill, I will communicate that to her this week.

Need Advice on Clinical Instructor
Okay so I've been in Nursing School for 3 weeks and so far so good "EXCEPT" I think for what ever reason my clinical instructor either #1 doesn't think I have what it takes to be a nurse or #2 she just doesn't like me for whatever reason. I've been trying to figure out what it can be, which is unfair because I should be focusing on school and not worrying why my instructor acts the ways she does towards me. She's not the type of instructor who is mean or will bully, she gets to you by Ignoring You!!! For the last 3 weeks my instructor has not checked in on me while working with patients, how does she know that I'm doing vitals correctly, or using effective communication, or repositioning and changing my patients bed linen correctly (all things we have done in lab so far). Yesterday when I was taking my patients soiled linens out of the room she was outside the door but didn't come in. I have a small clinical group of 7 students and during post conference she talks about what happened with patients in other rooms with the other students but there is nothing said about my experience that day because she doesn't have any interaction with me during clinical. She has said "good job" to me a couple of times but how can she say "good job" to me if she hasn't watched me interact with any patients??? I really don't know what the problem is: I'm on time, I hand in assignments on time, I'm come to clinical ready to work, never am I copped up in the conference room. I'm in NS to learn and work hard!!! I'm feeling discouraged because I'm with her till December. How should I handle the situation?

Ready to start my nursing program..
Okay I have been preparing for nursing school before I was accepted into a program. In January I purchased a dosage calc book and a test success book and have read both. In April I was accepted into two programs and had a tough time deciding which program to choose but finally picked the school that has the best retention and nclex pass rate. I gave my 2 weeks notice at my full-time job of 6 years last friday, my boss doesnt want me to leave and was trying to work around my school schedule but I know myself and working full-time while in NS will be too ddifficult (I did find a part-time job 12-15 hrs a week) I made a list of daily chores for my teenage son, got all my books, started the reading for my first lecture last night. Sorry for the rant but I'm just ready to start! Congrats to everone who has been accepted this year and start in the fall or spring. P.S. I love this site! I've gotten so much information that will be beneficial for nursing school.

Accepted to two programs but having trouble deciding which one to attend.
Thanks for the replies, both schools I can transfer my credits and transition to a BSN program. I'm leaning towards the hospital based program. I never had to take out loans for school so I'm a little nervous.

Accepted to two programs but having trouble deciding which one to attend.
I have been accepted to two nursing schools, one is at a local community college and the other is a hospital based program. I'm having trouble deciding which one to attend. If I get my ASN through the community college I would'nt have to take out any loans because grants would pay for everything, the only problem is I have a friend who just completed this program and she had a diffucult time, she said the program was very frustrating and disorganized when it came to grading and clinicals. I took all my pre-reqs with this girl and she got A's in everything, so for her to say this makes me nervous. The hospital based program, I would have to take out about 14 k in student loans but this program has been around for over a hundred years and is a well respected program, high nclex pass rate, and because the program is affiliated with all the hospitals in the area I can get a job after graduation. Don't know if I should do the ASN program for free and have issues or do the Diploma program and have to pay loans. I do believe in the saying "You get what you pay for." It's really a tough decision.
