  1. Hi! It depends on your employer whether they have a program to give you a quarterly or annual etc paycheck for being certified. Where I used to work, it was twice a year and you'd get paid $1,800 but also have to complete a project and be involved in committee sessions. Where I currently work, there's a clinical ladder program similar to that but you're required to have a certification if you do not have a BSN or higher, and youd have to be involved in projects and committees etc. I think that holding a certificate in your specialty is a personal achievement and it demonstrates that you've been validated in your knowledge/skills/critical thinking :) it's not necessarily about getting paid more, however I can understand that idea that you'd be more valuable therefore you should receive a higher pay. side note, TNCC is a course not a certification, and it usually is a requirement if you work in emergency & some ICUs but in ICU usually you'd need to take TCAR ;) AHA Instructors in my experience just want to have a side job for extra income and it doesn't affect their pay at the hospital as a floor nurse.
  2. Hello, I do not know the answer to your question, but I was curious, if you don't mind my asking, what do you need the card for? I applied to LA County College of Nursing and Allied Health and have been waiting for the letter... lol
  3. Apply to Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied Health - because your GPA is so high, they are bound to accept you immediately!
  4. Anyone accepted to PCC's RN PROGRAM as an ALTERNATE? It seems like I cannot find anyone who is talking about Pasadena City College or their nursing program... I want to know who all has applied and been accepted either in general or as an alternate, like myself. The email indicating that I am accepted as an alternate (in the event that an accepted candidate chooses to decline their position as a student in the program, I may be notified for their seat) came weeks ago in October. It said I will be eligible for the alternate status until January 13th, 2015. I am anxious and eager to find out whether or not someone will drop out of their seat in the program so I can hop in! Ha ha. Anyways, is there anyone who has been in this program or is currently enrolled - how is it? What is there to look forward to regarding the classes, teachers, clinicals, sites, etc? Thanks soo much!!! Best, Emily
  5. That's odd-I did contact them regarding scheduling and they said that the beginning of November I should expect an invite also the acceptance/denial letter. Thank you for responding! One more question, how do you know when the exam dates are? Is there a link I could go to to view this
  6. Oh ok!!! May I ask when you received your invitation to the TEAS exam from LA county? I'm waiting to get one... I have not scheduled an exam for the test yet because I'm waiting to take it at this campus
  7. Just curious, were you invited by la county college to take the teas on campus? Or did you just schedule it on your own?
