  1. As the old guy in this group, I just maintain what I have. I started lifting in the Air Force 22 yrs ago. I retire next month. I'm in my second week of orientation in Med/Surge. I'll do reps with 300lbs for bench and 800lbs on the leg press followed by dumbbell lunges for legs. I also do 30 min of cardio every other day so I can drink my beer (Samual Adams baby!) without getting a beer gut.
  2. I just retired from the Air Force as a 2W2 (munitions, very big munitions, get it?) I went from being in charge of everything to knowing nothing at all! What a shock to the system I'm in my second week of orientation on the toughest med/surge floor in the hospital. We get everything from bariatrics to ortho, and even a few psych pt. I'm not that crazy about changing diapers on a 300lb woman. I did my first wound vac the other day. That was amazing! I'm learning something new every day. I love it! I'll be ready for the ER next year.
  3. Hey Christy, if you want to learn from the best, find my mother Nancy Gibbs and stick to her like glue. You may have had one of her classes. I'm following her footst:up:eps
  4. Don't second guess. I'm in the Air Force and I have been to Saudi quite a few times (not as a nurse) and I totally agree with your post. It was very informative and accurate. I have seen it first hand. I had to go shopping for one of my co-workers because the store owner wouldn't talk to her. Don't worry about the critics here. Someone will always take offense. KKK? Give me a break!! Working "overseas" will make a lot of people appreciate what we have here. No country is perfect. Where else can we joke about religions without start holy wars? I need to add one more fact to your post. They really love blonds over there. Hey, this is my first post!!!
