I used hurst the first time failed and then retook using kaplan I passed.

I found that hurst didn't cover a lot of the topics that were covered on my test...

I agree with Okami your ID needs to match your application/ registration to a T... Maybe go to the DMV and just tell them that u need your named changed/fixed and they will resend I one b4 your test day ? Just a thought.

It was her advanced package I forget how much I paid for it but she has three different packages that come with different things if you go to her website caring4you.net u can browse around and see what she has to offer Good luck to you !

Hi @lieloo thanks I paid for 10 private sessions but it also came with 24 mp3s for content , a 265 practice exam , when she tutors u she goes over 12-15 questions per session has u answer them and then goes over each.. She gives u concepts more than what she already does on her youtube video.. The concepts I learned from her helped me on most if not more than half of my test questions. I would recommend her if one has the money to do so.

Hey all ! Just wanted to start of by saying thanks to all the people who post/ reply to personal experiences on the NCLEX ... Like most I am posting my story here in hopes it helps someone along the way through this battlefield we call the NCLEX.. I graduated in May of 2014 gave my first try in July .. I used hurst , it was a good review for content but not so much of critical thinking some may disagree but that is just my personal opinion. I did the sample tests and was doing okay so I told myself ehhh no need to read the rationales WRONG:no: .. I failed at 89.. SECOND try I took KAPLAN it was good they are geared towards more critical thinking... I did all the qbank and q trainers I was scoring high 50's and low 60's .. During this time things were rough personally and I didn't spend as much time on my review it showed because I failed again at 265.... I couldn't blame anything or anyone else except for myself and I knew I needed to change how I prepared for the third and final time, THIRD try Instead of getting my money back from kaplan I asked to retake there course and use it to its entirety, I did all the questions read all the rationales and used the content book for anything that I needed to brush up on, I also did private tutoring with AnnaLiese Garrison ( some may know her from her 8 essential concepts from YouTube) she was amazing she really helped me focus on what the questions were really asking and how to not fall in the common " traps" of the nclex... After a grueling two months of hard work I took the test this past Thursday and found out today that I passed after answering 78qs :) .. My advice : whatever review u choose make sure u use it to its entirety , read your rationales even the ones u get right , don't try and memorize everything there is no way your going to know everything, and lastly believe in yourself ... thanks for the responses.... I actually have been studying for the past 3 weeks ... so in addition to the next three that I have it will be 6 weeks total. :) my anxiety is getting the best of me at the moment... i just feel like singing.. " leetttt it gooooooo lettt it goooo this NCLEX wont hold me back anymooorrreeee.." hahaha

Hey everyone just out of curiosity how many weeks did you study for the nclex -RN ? I'm getting so anxious cause I feel like I am not prepared and only have three weeks left... but as I have seen on here its a completely normal feeling. I have accepted the fact that I'm not going to know everything and I can only do my best but sometimes I get those " what if " questions in my head... Gahhh I just want this to be over and done with. I also purchased that 97 page review anyone on here find it helpful ? Thanks in advance !!!

I take it in 5 weeks @rob4546 ... Super nervous Cause it's my second time... First time I did hurst... As of now I am studying kaplan and PDA.... I have to admit I'm trying my best not to obsess over my scores ... There not great but there also not bad high 50's and low 60's.... Did u do kaplan any tips on how to use kaplan effectively ?

Hi guys does anyone know if the 4 nursing practice exams ( NOT the qtrainers or q bank ) if they are separate questions or are they questions used from the qbank? Thanks

AN members aren't allowed to tell you " what course of action to take " BUT I am suggesting that you do some homework on what the outcomes can be if you choose one or the other option via Pearson vue. After reading the other stories about the same situation they both are very different approaches in making a ruling if you can or cannot re sit for boards.

Hurst questions are way to easy.... But don't let my opinion refrain from giving hurst all you got here are many who have passed with it too. Good luck !

I used hurst the first time and failed with it ... I'm now doing kaplan but I think it just depends on what u need content or strategy.... After sitting for boards I did realize that kaplan questions are sooooo like nclex...

Thanks :) okay is ur me or am I being to hard on myself /obsessing over my 2 scores thus far only took q trainer 1=60 and q trainer 2= 50 I have more to do in which I know I will grow and get better but i think I may be being to hard on myself to early on .... Did any of u guys do that thru out kaplan ? Or is it just me !? Lol

After much researching and reading the Success stories on here for the people who took kaplan I signed up and started today :) just wanted to thank u all who shared all the good and bad experiences.... I am hoping that it helps this time around since I didn't pass with hurst the first time... We learned the decision tree today... Did any of you find it helpful ? I know that it only is pertained to certain q's .... Any advice as far as how to utilize kaplan would be greatly appreciated...

@4mykids04 I know the feeling cause I myself did not pass the first time.... I cried ... I lost sleep and was depressed and guess what ? You have every right to feel that way !! But do not feel like it's the end of the world ... All you can do now is let outta your system and get back on track... It took me a week and a half and lots or wine to get over it :) u can do this .. My bf put it in a good perspective he reminded me that I got over the hardest part SCHOOL !! I don't need to worried about getting kick out and starting a program all over again... Just keep taking it over again till I pass ( hope this time around ) .... Keep your head up ... Re evaluate what didn't and what will work this time around ... Good luck with your studies ... U got this :)

This is my second time taking it and I am coming into this time around with a clearer head and higher motivation to kick the test in the butt :) first time around I didn't utilize my sources well... I just thought it would be good to do something new and different this time around as well.... I heard that everything they tell you far as how to study u have to do it that way ? Is that right ? How many hours per week did u study ? Thanks again any insight from a person who was successful using kaplan is a big help.... Taking the plunge and taking kaplan was hard cause of all the opinions so hearing good stuff about it makes me feel a lot better congrats on passing btw!!!! ( partytiiiiiime!!!)

Hey all ... Was wondering if anyone has ever taken both hurst and kaplan together ... I recently took hurst and was unsuccessful the first time so I'm gunna try out kaplan since I realized I was lacking in critical thinking and breaking down the questions to nclex... Hurst is offering me a 45 day remediation packet and I didn't want it to go to waste .... Any thoughts or advice from anyone who has taken both before ? Thanks !!!!
