  1. I wonder how many people have been waitlisted. They didn't give me any info when I called. Is it 100? 200? Is it even realistic?
  2. I second Life Preservers. I had a great time.
  3. I've heard BCIT is better suited if you are interested in working in ICU or Emergency. But that's not 100%, and both schools are great. Congratulations, either way :)
  4. Congrats!!!!
  5. I'm surprised because I remember back when they just changed the pre-req's and people were being accepted with really low GPA's... they even extended the deadline! It seems to be getting more and more competitive every intake, makes sense though... Gah.
  6. I wonder why so many people are applying this year? I'm like everyone else, worrying but I have a few back-up plans.
  7. Wow, that's really impressive! You'll be among the first to be accepted, I'm sure. Please let us know when you get that golden email!
  8. I've applied to NWCC in Terrace and I'm thinking of CNC in Quesnel!
  9. WHaaaa? I wonder why so late??
  10. Yeah I don't know why it's taking longer either...
  11. I really want to hear some good news... doesn't have to be mine! Anyone? I applied with a 3.47 and I'm so antsy
  12. Hankuki, having a degree will push you to the top of the list, regardless of your GPA, as long as you meet the minimum 2.33 GPA. I would wish you good luck, but you probably don't need it! :)
  13. Good luck Sairda. I heard of some people being accepted really last minute, so fingers crossed for you!
  14. Oh I think you will be okay. Changing requirements usually sends everyone through a loop. My gpa was a bit lower because I took A&P 1 & 2 as well as the harder English course so I didn't have to take it during the semester! Are you applying anywhere else?
  15. HI Kayyyy, I applied with a 3.47 and 17 credits. What about yourself?
  16. I would much rather just get into Langara, then take the time to complete more university credits to get into BCIT. Looking back, it probably would have been a similar timeline, but I wanted to work$$ and not be in school-full time. The pre-req's for langara only took 1 semester full-time, and I was able to save up a lot of money for my tuition. I didn't want to go back and do BCIT's grade 11 and 12 chem requirements... especially because now you have to pay for adult education, if i'm not mistaken. Just my 2 cents :)
  17. I would hazard a yes to that. I remember when the waitlist was taken away, they had to extend the deadline and people were getting in with really low GPA's...
  18. I did A&P II, stats and the harder english course in one semester. I had to take stats again, but everything else was fine. I skipped Langara and went to Capilano though, and I wasn't placed on the waitlist. It's all up to you and if you are working or not. I struggled with statistics because I'm not very good at math, but everything else was okay.
  19. I know it's a bit early, just wondering if anyone else has applied for the Fall 2016 term? My application was completed at the beginning of this month, fingers crossed.
  20. They base GPA just on your pre-req's, but if you have a bachelors degree I believe you get more points (not sure how they calculate it, though).
  21. After a lot of debating, my partner and I are thinking of moving to Quesnel/Prince George/Terrace for school. I like the idea of a smaller school - we already live in a small town and like it a lot. For anyone who went to school in a smaller town, how did you like it? More 1-on-1 attention? Less stressful?
  22. Also remember that with BCIT, you are able to choose a specialty, with at langara I don't believe you can. (Last time I spoke with them.) GF who went to BCIT said it was a lot of older students. Not sure if it would be the same @ Langara.
  23. I have a question for everyone - if I am applying the the Sept intake and my Anatomy and Physiology 1 & 2 are 8 credits in total, does Langara round it down to 6? How would my GPA be calculated? I know that the 5 university credits need to be minimum 15. So what happens if all mine are 17? Would my 4 credit science courses become 3 credits?
