  1. Wow, our time tables were very similar. It's such a long process but I'm being bought on as RN 2 too so its def been worth it! I finally got my final offer too, my first day is 12/21/20! Thanks for sharing!
  2. Request to complete e-QIP received 11/20
  3. Updating for those following: Vetpro completed 9/23 and approved on 10/13 Physical, blood work, fingerprints and drug test completed 10/20 Still waiting for next steps....
  4. I’d imagine the OR experience would def help!
  5. I had a panel interview with the nurse manager and 2 nurses from the clinic. I was asked 10 pre-determined questions that were on a sheet of paper by the nurse manager, and they all recorded my responses . My questions were very specific to the position I applied for...each question had like 3 parts to it, so make sure your answer addresses each part of the question. Because I applied for a clinic position, I remember one of my questions was “what if after assessing a patient in the clinic the doctor tells you the patient needs to be transferred to the emergency dept, what would you do? and explain each step.” Good luck on your interview!
  6. I actually got my tentative offer on 9/11!
  7. OK thanks! When the hiring manager called me to clarify some things I mentioned in the interview she said “okay things will start to move fast” but because I’ve never worked for or applied to the VA before I have no idea what that means in terms of time frame. LOL
  8. Zofran, compazine, opioids such as morphine/dilaudid, protonix, Pepcid, ABx like vancomycin, cefepime, flagyl, levaquin, zosyn, lasix, vasotec, we started also giving IV hydralazine too, Ativan, methylprednisone and dexamethasone
  9. CONGRATS on your new job! How long was it from your interview until your tentative offer? The hiring manager called me two days after my interview and asked for references. So my fingers are crossed that’s a good sign!
  10. Hi everyone! Would love to get any advice that I can. I applied for a clinic RN position at the VA and so far the timeline has been as follows: Applied 07/19/2020 Position closed 7/31/2020 Referred 08/07/2020 Contacted to schedule interview on 08/14/2020 Interview scheduled for 08/17/2020 My questions are: what effect has COVID had on the VAs hiring process? Are things moving faster or slower because of the pandemic? Any interview tips for me? I plan to take a copy of my resume and references to the interview in hopes that it goes well!
  11. Hello, Is there anybody who has heard anything back yet about acceptance into ODU's FNP Fall 2020 program? I wasn't sure if they were running behind notifying people of acceptance due to the pandemic or if I just hadn't received anything because I was denied. My application status still is just showing as complete and under review. Thanks!
  12. Ours was 80% or higher or it was considered a failure, whether it was the entire class or a test. Our tests were all 50 questions, each answer worth 2 points, so if you got more than 10 questions wrong on a test, you failed. 75% is kind of lenient actually.
  13. I just finished my first year of nursing school in May. I just started my first PCT position on June 1st at a local hospital. I actually got hired on the floor where I had clinical because I caught the attention of the floor director. Its really been a blessing and I love it!
  14. I got section 6.....do you all remember hearing about the length for the white lab coat that we need? I cant remember if she said to get the short on or don't get the short one. Also, we don't need to wear our scrubs for that first day of class do we? From what she was saying, the first day is basically going to be like a second orientation so I am assuming the answer is no.
  15. Oh wow! I see that....I wonder how that person was allowed to register when the packet stated we could'nt register until AFTER we show up at orientation with completed paperwork?
  16. Is everybody ready for orientation on Thursday??!
  17. Did you just recently request the background check? Mine appeared the same way until everything was complete. I think everything took about a week.
  18. Hey I have a quick questions guys.....how did you MD fill out of the Titer results field?....did they put immune (positive) or put the actual value result.....My doctor didn't complete that part of the immunization paperwork and she sent me the lab results instead. Now I have no idea which one to put in the results field lol
  19. They had to email the drug test paperwork directly to my email. The rep stated they are experiencing an issue with the pdfs that are being posted onto the profiles right now. Did anyone turn in their acceptance response form yet??
  20. I did find the sign up option but the site is not very user friendly. The site posted a slip to take the drug test but the pdf they posted for me to print is blank *sigh*I will be calling customer service today.
  21. Got home about an hour ago.....acceptance letter was in the mail! SOOO EXCITED RIGHT NOW!!!! See everyone on the 31st :)
  22. Congrats RjSmith! sooo exciting!!! :-)
  23. Thanks for all the info! Yes, I was looking into Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing for their BSN program.
  24. Thanks alot Zackaroni ......now I'm going to be checking my mail like a madwoman everyday because you heard 4-6 weeks! LOL
  25. The most I have taken is 10 credits in one semester while working 40 hrs a week. I got all A's but I was EXHAUSTED all of the time. The next semester after that I refused to do that again lol Welcome mayss! Yes, I hope we hear something really soon. A couple of my close friends have asked me have I heard anything yet and its making me even more anxious because I have been trying not to think about it so much! lol
