  1. I would've chosen the one with the most diverse target audience. The question is asking about just that. The answer you chose simply singles out ONE group while the other answer address more than one cultural group. Hope that helps!
  2. Hey everyone! I'm a new CNA that just got an offer to interview for a LTC/Rehab facility. The shift choices were 7-3, 3-11, and 11-7 with $9/hrs with a $1.25 shift differential and weekends only. I'll be starting nursing school in August. I was wondering if anyone has worked this shift in nursing school and how did you function goi g to class that Monday after working 11-7 on Sunday? I would have class 8:30-2:30 with a 30 min lunch. Is this something that doable? Sounds scary but I feel it's the best to give me time to study and work at the same time. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  3. I'm not going to this school or anywhere near the state but I know a good place for study methods. Keshwani Prep on YouTube goes though things on the HESI. I know he does the TEAS stuff but just check him out.
  4. Just an update, I GOT IN!! I dropped everything in to driveway to open my letter!! I'm STILL shaking and it's been about 10 mins since opening it. I called my mom and teared up a little. Wow, I can't believe it.
  5. Well thank you. That means a lot coming from a complete stranger. It's different coming from someone you know, but from a stranger, it's that much more special. I'll be stalking my mailman after this week for sure. Ha.
  6. Can someone email the heart and lymphatic system notes? My email is [email protected] Thanks.
  7. It's okay. You still have two chances. Let's pray and hope that the other two are a yes.
  8. What classes/entrance exams do you have left? I'm currently taking A&P II, English 102, general psych, and I'll have to take a pre-nursing class in the summer. I actually dont have any entrance exams to take. When will you begin submitting applications? I've submitted my application in Jan. How many programs will you be applying to? Just one! Yikes! Have you already been accepted into a program? Not yet. I should find out by March 20th. I feel pretty confident with a 3.6 gpa in math/science.
  9. Surprisely I got put on the alternate list last year missing 7 classes (there was a miscommunication in what transferred). So I'm feeling confident for the most part. Just hate that feeling of not knowing.
  10. Hey guys, I applied to one BSN program in January and I'm hoping to hear back by March 20th. I'm so nervous but I have a math/science gpa of 3.6 so I feel a little confident but then I start thinking of all the 4.0s. Ahh, its frustrating. Luckily March is just about here.
  11. I'm not sure. I don't know anyone in the program and no one on here is in that school.
  12. Well the nursing department sends us the supplemental application in Jan and then we find out in March. So I've already applied. Haha. Guess I'll find out in March.
  13. That's the thing. The school has had a 100% pass rate for 4 years now. They've had this method for the same amount of time.
  14. I just feel if we put in the hard work to have the GPA, an entrance exam shouldn't determine that. They're way hard and basically X you out if you don't do well.
  15. I think that acceptance to the program is based on GPA. I think they have a point system. They're very hush hush about what system they use. I do know that it has something to do with county so maybe you get points for that. I just know I didn't have to take the teas so I was happy about that. This is the only school I've applied to and right now I have a math & science GPA of 3.6 and that's without A & P II. I'm hoping I get in.
  16. It's a BSN program. I believe it's based off of GPA and that's what gets you in the program. The TEAS test I believe is what determines if you continue on in the program as well as grades.
  17. The program I'm applying to doesn't have an entrance exam before like most the allnurses posters have. You take it once you get it and it doesn't weigh as heavily. Is that weird to anyone else that I don't have to take it before? Thanks for any replies.
  18. Most schools need you to have a minimum math and science GPA of 2.8. Being that you're right at the borderline of that, you wouldn't be considered that competitive. I would try to retake some science courses and go from there.
  19. I did. There's not many schools here that offer getting your BSN. I don't have my CNAs at all so going to an Associates program would just take more time.
  20. This is my second time around applying to nursing school. Hopefully I get in. Some posts scared me cause some people didn't get in till their 6th time. 😳
  21. Thank you. I wish you luck when it's your time as well. :)
  22. Hoping and praying for the best. I will hear in March if I'm in or not! I'm really nervous. How was it for those that already have their letters? We're you as anxious/nervous?
  23. Do most go onto residencies or straight to staff RNs? Is it more just what you're comfortable with?
  24. I don't really know the difference. What do you do that's different in the residency and being a staff nurse? Anyone can answer. Thank you.
  25. Hello all, I've applied to the BSN program at UNC-P and almost got in for the Fall 2014 term. I was put on the alternate list but come to find out not all classes transferred to the school. I will now be applying to the Spring/Summer 2015 term. I was wondering if anyone has been in the program and how they liked it. I can't find too much about it and I wanted to get some perspective on the program. Any reply would help. Thanks in advance! :)
