  1. When I originally applied, I was told that my package would go to the board in October (2016 ) and I would hear something shortly thereafter. The board didn't actually meet until a few months into 2017. I found out in March that I was an alternate and then in May a spot opened up. It will happen, just may take longer than anticipated!
  2. It does stink that your experience is not counted as I had over 3 yrs experience with an associates but it is what it is. I was offered five different locations that were not the big three, so yes you definitely have other options, including overseas. Quite a few of us decided to go overseas. All of the new nurses did go to the big three( mostly Portsmouth and Walter Reed).
  3. Midwestern State in Wichita Falls? If so, small world.
  4. Bring your own swimsuit. Several uniforms have to be purchased as you will be inspected in them. Right now, my group is having to purchase summer whites, dress whites, and khakis, which we will be wearing all the time. You also have to purchase PT uniforms and sweats. You do not pay have to pay for them until the end of ods.
  5. I am. Have you commissioned yet?
  6. Congratulations! I just found out several days ago that I was picked up as well.
  7. If those that are selected decide not to accept their commission, then the alternates would be offered those spots. My recruiter told me that the alternates are offered the first slots the next fiscal year, which will be this October.
  8. I found out the same thing.
  9. For anyone that applied to Med-Surg I received word from my recruiter that my packet had been submitted to the board several days ago and they were requesting more information. I was told originally that the board would meet last October.
  10. I found out from mine that my packet hasn't actually been submitted, but I'm pretty sure that I've completed everything. He doesn't seem to be in a big hurry.
  11. I don't know if my recruiter was specifically talking about medsurg or not, but he indicated that the first nursing board doesn't meet until late November.
  12. I didn't really use a specific format. My recruiter told me what needed to be included and did all the formatting when i sent him what I had.
  13. Hello everyone, I am getting close to being finished with my packet and am needing some advice in regards to the resume. My recruiter said there is no specific format to follow and that he would review it and make suggestions. Did any of you follow a certain template? Any help is greatly appreciated!
  14. Patiently waiting ? Hope we all find out soon!
