  1. You had me until Those that shouldn't have a chance to survive, and by divine medicine, do. Say what?
  2. Hi "Pretty Nerd", I am "Pretty Sure" we are in the same {entitled} class... you just described my cohort...
  3. Where do you live? I live in GA and the hospitals compete just for us to be their externs... I am in my second semester of the BSN program and have already gotten three interviews this week just for externships with three different hospitals, each wanting me to commit to work for them after graduation. I hope your situation improves, you seem like you are at your wit's end. Hang in there and do what you need to do to get through this rough spot...you have worked too hard to throw in the towel now :-)
  4. We were asked to list any and all medications that we take and bring the "pill bottle" with us to our physical...you know, just in case it showed up in our urine screen...HIPAA was out the window I guess...
  5. Are these also referred to as "quiet rooms"- is that the same thing?
  6. Thank you for your feedback, sounds like you had a positive experience. I hope to find a place where I fit in and feel at home as well!!
  7. I am in my second semester and just finished week 3 of psych clinical rotations. Although I originally wanted to do hospice, I am leaning more and more toward psychiatric nursing- this seems to be where I feel most comfortable, oddly enough. Almost everyone thinks I belong on the INSIDE for wanting to do psych nursing, but I am really drawn to it and feel as though I have something to offer these patients. I have a close family member with multiple mental health disorders and feel this experience will help me relate to my patients, and hopefully give me insight on how to help them. Is there any advice you PSYCH nurses out there can give me? For instance, how did you know that was your calling? Do you regret it? The only ones I know are the instructors at the University I attend, and I would like some honest, unbiased feedback. Thank you all so much in advance for your responses.
