Hey all. Was wondering if anyone here applied to the Summer/Fall 2021 Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP or CNS program. I submitted an application but haven't heard about an interview yet. Anyone else? Cheers.

Anyone hear anything from Grossmont? I saw they opened another application for the Tele unit at Grossmont and I applied to that one as well. Also, I haven't heard anything from the Ortho unit at Grossmont that I originally applied to.

I feel like every time I look at my status and it continues to say "Under Consideration", it's mocking me. Has anyone heard from the rotations at Memorial?

Bless this thread. I applied to the ortho/surgical PCU at Grossmont and the rotations at Memorial. Got the email about too unit choices but haven't heard anything about an interview. I think the last cohort to go through this got emails about interviews? I'm sleeping with my alerts on full blast and I'm constantly refreshing my email...

I was looking on the orientation portal and I couldn't see anything for the SoCal one. Do you think it's filled up? I'll probably end up driving up to SF anyway, because my dad is adamant that I see the campus. And if he's footing the bill, why not?

I got the same type of answer from the admissions office. They keep saying May, but that's not relieving any stress...

Wait, what? How can they do that? Did you get accepted to the nursing program?

That's the biggest problem I've faced during the entire application process: there's no communication between the departments. I was denied from Cal State LA because I claimed English 101 credit through AP scores, but they didn't have my scores in the Nursing department. They didn't contact the Office of Undergrad admissions to check it.

Alright, so I emailed her about having to request the admission into the alternate major, as well as my issue about not meeting the alternate major's requirements, and she got back to me almost immediately. This was her reply: "Thank you, it is very busy and yes that is a rumor. You are being switched automatically and do not need to request the switch. For a non-impacted major you simply need to meet the minimum admission requirements. However, if you want a different major just let me know and I will use that one per your request."

Haha. I chose English. I don't know why, but I did. And now I'm worried that they might deny me for not meeting the English program requirements, and at that point I wouldn't know what to do.

Can we have the email address for the Impacted Major Coordinator, please?

Okay, to check the alternate major, log onto CSUMentor, click on Apply Online, then Undergraduate Online Application. Then select the semester you applied for, which for everyone here, should be Fall 2014. Then, scroll down to "Applications Already Submitted" and click the "View Application Confirmation" button. This should lead you to the confirmation page, where there should be a hyperlink that says "If you wish to print out a copy of the information you submitted in this application for your records only, click here." On that page, under the first heading, "Enrollment Information", there should be your Intended Major, Emphasis/Concentration, and Alternate Major. And I'll call the Office of Undergrad Admissions right now and explain that we're all hearing different things.

I think it's a great idea. That way we could go in knowing each other. I mean, it's not necessary, but it helps.

So what's considered an upper division gen ed? I feel like an idiot asking, but I just need to know what I should be taking.

I'd like to take a language class, since I haven't taken any since high school. I'm not sure if that's a graduation requirement, but it would be good to know anyway. Since we're going to be enrolled in our alternate majors, I wonder if we have to take the classes that are outlined for them. I'm not even sure what my alternate major was, to be honest..

What it says on the SFSU website is this: "Newly admitted students who plan to attend San Francisco State must accept their Admission Offer for the fall semester between April 1 and May 1. The deadline to accept your Admission Offer for the spring semester is November 20. Students admitted after the deadline will have three weeks after their date of admission to accept their Admission Offer. To accept your Admission Offer please go to the SF State Gateway," But since it was technically before the deadline, I don't know if that matters or not. But, honestly, I don't think they're about to deny all of us admission because of 2 days. I'd say just keep checking the Portal and accept/deny when you can.

I have no idea how I went that entire time without even looking for a thread like this. The wait has been torturous and it would have been nice to have stood in solidarity with someone (like seriously I thought they lost my application or something). But I was just accepted to Spring 2015! I was wondering what everyone is doing about housing, though. It seems some of you are in the Bay area already, but I'm down in San Diego, so if anyone else is freaking out a little bit about that, that would be comforting to hear, too.
