Help!!!
Hi, I would definitely take the pre-health program. I took pre-health at Humber because my high school marks weren't that great. I got honours in it and I'm doing the university nursing program at Humber now. You have to get at least an 83% average to get into the BN from the pre-health. I'm not sure what the cut-off is for the RPN program though. Here's a link to the exact pre-health program I took at Humber if you're interested. Humber or George Brown Sept 2014
@beauty49 I'm starting first year nursing this Sept, but I was there last year for the GAS program. So, I'm familiar with the campus.

Opinion on Humber College RN program
Hello Dawn. I actually haven't started the program yet. I was enrolled in the GAS program and just got into the BN. My first year begins this September. Other than what people tell me, I don't know much about the program. I've heard though that second year is more intense in terms of writing and supposedly the second semester of year two is an absolute nightmare. If you haven't seen the year two courses on the Humber site, I would take a look at that and try to prepare for each individual course. Bachelor of Nursing - Regular | Humber College Programs Page

High school refresher courses - Pre health
Hey Libby! I know that Humber offers a two semester General Arts & Science program which allows direct access to an RN program. The GAS program was a breeze; I went to half my classes and did minimal studying and got into nursing. I had a 55-60 average throughout high-school, blame my laziness , and still was able to get in.

Advice for a future nursing student?
Thank you so much soupy :) It definitely helps having a general idea of what to expect in each course. I actually had an A & P course in the GAS program so I'm comfortable with that. I'll look into what you mentioned.

Opinion on Humber College RN program
Hey! Just finished reading the whole thread! OK so I know it is a little early, but I'm attending Humber's Bachelor of Nursing program this September and I'm hoping to get my CPR and PRC done ASAP. Is there anybody else attending this September? I'm kind of nervous because I have no idea what it will be like.

Humber or George Brown Sept 2014
Hey! I'm actually going to be starting my first year for the bn program at Humber this semester. Humber definitely has a less rigorous course-load. I'm only taking eight courses the entire first year! A downside, if you consider it one, is the sheer amount of students there are. It can get very crowded here and I had difficulty finding quiet places to study. It got annoying at times. I think Goerge Brown is the more professional college. I would go to GB if I could, but if you do end up going to Humber I'll definitely be there in September.

Advice for a future nursing student?
Hello. I got accepted to the Bachelor of Nursing program at Humber College for September this year. I just finished their General Arts & Science program and it was relatively easy. I don't want to fall into a false sense of security and struggle when I start in September. My first semester looks like this:

Anatomy And Physiology 1 Nursing As A Profession Professional Relationships Introduction To Psychology Second: Anatomy And Physiology 2 Nursing And Wellness: Clinical Practice Nursing And Wellness Lifespan Development How can I prepare for the the first year? What can I expect to learn in these courses? Are there any books that I can purchase to help prepare for specific courses or the program in general? I am willing to study all summer if it will lessen the load for when I actually begin my studies. Any other general tips provided for a fellow nursing student would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to help. :)
