  1. Hey, i personally didn't have a job, but i did have friends who managed to have jobs and keep good grades :) If you want to have a job you just gotta make sure to focus that much more haha. I suggest working like 2 days a week or something like that, any more might get you overwhelmed! :)
  2. Well for first semester we just had the choice between two english courses, one was more about literature and one was focused on articles and essays about the eenvironment. So thats really just your preference, theirs no difference in the amount of difficulty And second semester they gave us a choice of about 5 courses From those 2 were online, and i took one of those -Astronomy online I wouldn't reccomend it, it had a prettty heavy workload and i'm not looking forward to the exam because it's hard to study something never really taught you People in the other classes (they were mostly philosophy courses, i dont remember all the names) enjoyed them and said they were easy! As for any other electives, i have no idea, because they never really gave us any choices! hope that helps hhaha
  3. hey! Well just try and keep ahead of the game, because it kinda piles up around week 8-9 and then exams are tough! And I don't really mean to to every single reading, of course that helps. But for first semester i don't think that ALL the readings are necessary for first semester, because i did maybe 40% of them and i have a 3.7 gpa haha. You'll have two nursing courses, which take more work than you'd think, because sometimes their confusing and the exams are kinda tough You'll have a bio course, which is easy if you just study your notes! All the information on the exams is from the notes they give you, which is ahmaaazing! And the Psych course isn't so bad, for this class i do suggest you do the readings :) And then there's an English course (you'll have a choice out of two english courses) So i think the only confusing classses are the nursing ones. But again, if you keep on track, and if possible start your assignments early (there'll be a paper in one class and a group assignment in the other) then you won't be so stressed when midterms and exams come around. Just try and finish your paper and group project early, to get it out of the way!
  4. Heyy, I've enjoyed my first year :) I really do recommend the program. The work is all manageable, if you're organized and focused. First year really hasnt been that bad. I hear that second year is a little bit tougher, but i think if i work hard i'll get through it! Most of the prof's i've had have been really great and supporting! I don't know much about the george brown program, but I do know that the Humber Program has a really good repuation of churning out great nurses! Feel free to ask me any other questions :)
  5. I believe that is only for second entry students. Because i've never heard anything about it. Are you second entry (sorry if you 've said it before and i didnt see) i paid my fees and they sent me a notice telling me what i need to do, and that test was not on my list! sorrrry
  6. Yes its due june 29th i believe, you can pay for each semester seperately but i think theres a charge for that, im just going to pay it at once.
  7. i actually did it for 90 as well i didnt know you could do it somewhere cheaper, but oh well whats done is done i really enjoyed the course though, it was veeeery interesting. i did it at St. Johns Ambulance in Missisauga. and thanks Joanna, i live in peel region so i'm going to do that in the summer i don't want to do it right away, cause i feel its a bit too early? if i start everything in the summer when do you guys think i should make my paramed appointment?
  8. Sorry for all the questions, but do you know if i complete everything in the summer and book my paramed appointment early in september, will it all still be valid throughout the year? is there a time frame in which you have to do it?
  9. Thank you so much for the info! I have my CPR, i just have to get the police check..and i read somewhere about some shots you need, you have any idea about sstuff like that? sounds tough, congrats on getting through that!!
  10. Ohhh man when did you graduate? if you dont mind me asking, did you fail any classes? is it really that easy to fail?
  11. No, i don't know anything about it! have you tried calling the nursing department?
  12. OMG i feel like you're reading my mind!!!! I read about that police record, but i thought that was something the school obtained by themselves? I guess that was kinda thick of me I have nooo idea how we're to go about that! As for the CPR course, my cousin (who is also starting the RN program with us) has called and i know that Humber itself does offer the CPR program, i heard theres one held in may, every saturday or something liek that, its around $90 (don't hold me to it though, i'm hearing this through a secondary source) Yes, humber was also my first choice :) I accepted the offer a couple days after i recieved the acceptance. I was nervewrackign. I wish they'd give me some guidance as to what to do next, cause i havent heard anything. BUT i know, i should grow up and take charge haha. I'm happy i found someone to talk about it with
  13. i've accepted Humber's offer!
  14. Thank you so much! I'll message if i have any more questions :)
