  1. Hey! It's good!! It's not exactly what I expected but I still really like it. It's a lot of documentation. I'm by the computer most of the time. Making phone calls, triaging through the phone, refilling prescriptions. But there is also education involved. Are you looking go into a community clinic?
  2. I'm pretty sure it's for the whole community clinic. They do everything from prenatal to geriatric
  3. Hello all, I am starting a new job at a community clinic next week and am super excited and nervous. I guess you can technically call me a new grad but not really- I worked as a flu clinic nurse for 6 months and this will be my first legit RN job. I am not really sure what to expect and am hoping someone working in a clinic could tell me what their job is like, whether they like it and any advice on what to brush up on before my first day. Thank you so much!!
  4. Good luck! im sure it is that is how i was, i was so skeptical about it. You wont really believe it until you see it on the BON or on pearson vue though haha
  5. i studied for a 5 weeks, i tried for 5 days a week and 5-6 hours a day but sometimes i slacked a little. The first week i did 75 questions and did all health and promotion questions then the second week i did 100 questions and did all physiological integrity, the third week i did all safe and effective care with 150 questions and the fourth week i did 200 questions with psych. The fifth week i did all comprehensive on monday i did 215 questions and took it all in one sitting and at the same time as my scheduled test and tuesday i just reviewed all the questions i got wrong. and the same for wed, thur and friday and then sat and sunday just relaxed and pampered myself ( i got a massage and my nails done lol) For all of the studying except comprehensive week i did questions and then reviewed the ones i got wrong. And when i say reviewed i mean i studied everything about it like why i got it wrong, all the content i could find about it on saunders and kaplan. I would do 1hr 15 min of studying and take a 15 min break and go on like that so i didnt wear myself out. For the resources i used the saunders yellow book for content, kaplan Rn course book for content and kaplan stratiegies 2014 for questions, saunders QandA for questions( i used that the most), the CD for saunders and kaplan and i used the ncsbn 3 week program but barely used it but i wished i did a little more of it because i feel the questions are the closet to nclex and the priority, delegation and assignment ( i think that is what its called) for questions. That last book was really good. I thought it was bad at first but realized that it was probably the best book of them all. Good Luck i hope that helps a little!
  6. OMG! this 3rd time was probably the worst test i have taken in my life. I got nauseous after question 80 and went to go take a break and eat a apple but that just made me want to vomit. When i went back in my stomach and head hurt so bad i was just wishing for the test to be over already and finally at 110 it did. My heart dropped, i was thinking to myself wait i was just kidding let it come back! I went out of the testing center and threw up. That has never happened to me before.. i went in my car and cried for like half an hour. I was so sure i failed, i felt like i barely knew what any of the questions were talking about and i was doubting myself the whole time . Finally i decided to check out the pearson vue trick and i got a message that said " Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time" i checked all the forums and videos to see if this is the good pop up. I got so worried though because it didn't have the second sentence like everyone else that says something about contacting the BON. I was still sure i failed though. Finally this morning i check the BON CA website and find my name there with RN and my license number! I am still to this point in shock but i just wanted to let everyone one that the pearson vue trick still works and if i can do you guys can do it because i really sucked in content and am a really bad test taker. Good luck to those who are going to take it!!!!
  7. I passed!!! thank you all for the postive vibes!!!! it feels so good to finally say i am a RN : )
  8. congratulations!!!! I am so happy for you! Good luck on this new journey! you are now a RN!!!
  9. I hope you pass! I also am taking my exam again (3rd time) april 14th and am so nervous about it. I have a kind of similar story that i wasnt prepared for the first one and then the second one i felt like i did and didn;t pass and i was sooo upset about it. I am really ready for this new exam date though and hopefully we will both pass! good luck!!!
  10. Good luck! I hope you passed, i am going to take the test for the third time in a couple of days so i know how it feels to take it again and wait for the results..i hope the good pop up is true!
  11. Thank you guys for the positive feedback. It is really pushing me!!!
  12. Hi guys, so i have been reading this forum for a little bit now and everytime i read it, i get inspired. So.. i thought i would write my story for anyone who is in the same position as i am and is retaking the test and feels like it will never happen to them. A little background- i graduated almost 2 years ago now : ( so i super lagged it. The first time i took my test i scheduled it a month after i graduated because i got so many recommendations to take the test while your memory on everything is still fresh. My dad unfortunately got in a accident after i graduated, he was on a motorcycle and a SUV hit him . I tried studying at the hospital but the thought of losing my dad was really hard. I would go everyday to see him and just study. I was thinking on rescheduling my test but i was suppose to go to Europe with two friends and i didn't want to bring them down and my dad said when he finally got out of his coma that he wanted me to go. So i took my test with not a lot of studying, but i figured it would be better to take it now so when i go again to take it, i wouldn't have a lot of anxiety and would know what to expect. Now writing this i realize that probably wasn't the best choice but aw well, it already happened. So i took 75 questions and i hoped by some miracle i would pass but i didn't. I was really upset even though i went in there knowing that i wouldn't pass. Anyway, i started studying again when i got back home from europe abotu a month or two later. I worked too so it was hard and i had other personal issues going on so i didn't end up taking my test again until a year after i took it the first time. I read about half of saunders, did kaplan questions, and the questions in saunders. I was so sure, i thought for sure this time i did it right, i knew i was going to pass. I went into my test super excited and pumped and ended up taking 265 questions. After 75 i kept thinking to myself, ok you got this, they want to challenge you, show them what you got. When i got home that day i did the pearson vue check and i got the bad pop up. I was so bummed. Especially since this time i thought i passed. It took me awhile to get over it, to this day which is a year later, i still feel really bummed about it. There are moments where i feel like i cant do it, that i will never fufill my dream and its really depressing. I decided this time to take hold of any resources i could. I started to read these forums and see what other people were doing to study and it really helped. I went to the library and got any nclex books they had. I ended up getting the prioritization, assigment, delegation book, the kaplan 2013-14 strategy book, saunders Qand A,and Saunders comprehensive review. I feel like this post is getting really long so anyone who wants to know how i studied let me know. Basically i just wanted to say thank you for everyone who has posted on this website, if you are retaking your exam, dont worry there are a lot of other people who are going through the same thing, you are not the only one. Good luck to everyone !!
