  1. To Overwhelmed, Smaller hospitals I've worked for in New Mexico and Colorado only check the license you are applying with. I also feel it best in a larger hospital to go directly to the dept mgr, bypassing HR. Explain your situation before HR has the chance to toss your resume in the trashcan.
  2. I had minor stipulations in Texas 2004-2006. The offense was a possession charge in Jan 2001. I went before the Board in Feb 2003. It was not job related, I have no criminal record, had no restrictions passing narcotics or working nights. I did not have to do the TPAPN or diversionary program. They were aware it was not mine, but it was in my vehicle. I've never flunked a drug test. I transferred the stipulations about halfway through to New Mexico. I can't tell you how many jobs I have been passed over for or had the job offer rescinded. I had no criminal record before or since. It is the Risk Mgmt or legal departments of hospital corporations that advise against those of us who have had a mistake in our lives. You screw up once and your essentially phucked. Anyone else have any ideas for rectifying this or know of a friendly HR dept?
