  1. That makes no sense! Unless they don't actually just look at the average.. But I don't understand what else they would use if there is no supplemental app. Perhaps the prereq grades? Maybe someone with a lower average had really high grades in the prereq courses. But if you do too then I have no idea what's going on :S
  2. I emailed Western yesterday and was informed that the cutoff average is currently at 86%.
  3. Congratulations on your acceptance!! Would you mind me asking your GPA for your last year (I'm assuming you've completed your last year)?
  4. Yeah I wasn't sure about the 9.0 scale either. Thanks for letting me know. I have a 3.56 so fingers crossed.
  5. Congratulations on getting into York!! :) Would you mind sharing your GPA? Also, would you happen to know, since they only look at grades, if they just take the top highest grades? Or how does York's admission system work?
  6. Congrats on the acceptance to York! Would you mind sharing your GPA? :)
  7. Hi! I applied last year and only made it on the waitlist for UoT. I'm applying to Western, UoT, York, and Mac. My cGPA isn't that great so I'm really hoping my supplementary applications/extra curriculars will help me out. My last two years are much better so hoping for Western or Toronto. Good luck to everyone! :)
  8. Has anyone heard anything recently?!
  9. This group thing is so confusing to me! Well at least we know we were almost there so if we have to reapply next year we will probably make it!! There's some hope!!!
  10. Did you find out your position on the UoT waitlist?!
  11. That was exactly what I thought too, but when I hadn't heard back, I decided to resend the email to the connect nursing address and they responded within a couple of hours.
  12. The connect nursing one that was at the bottom of the email they sent yesterday.
  13. UoT got back to me and they said I have been placed in the second group of the waitlist. They also said that it is unlikely that any spots will become available in July. If any spots do become available, it wouldn't be until mid to late August for the second group. So, as mentioned previously, I'm guessing it's relatively unlikely for anyone to get in off of the waitlist unless they are in the first group.
  14. @libs4 @Hope15 I am really sorry to hear that I wish you the best of luck with nursing and your future goals :) There's still plenty of opportunities and chances to try again!
  15. 20-30?!! That's crazy! I wonder how many people they even accept into the program.
  16. Ok thanks, I'll look into it! What are your goals for nursing? :)
  17. I want to be an OR nurse :) And potentially even look into nurse practitioner. And which schools offer a January start?!
  18. Fair enough And LOL wouldn't that be convenient!
  19. @cupteel, Thanks for letting us know! Did they say how many people per group? And does Toronto also notify by one-chance phone call? Or will they contact us by email? @lalalene, is Western or Toronto your first choice (if you got both)? And for for those who received acceptances from UoT, would you mind letting us know if you'll be accepting or rejecting so those of us on the waitlist can have an idea of how many spots need to be filled! Thanks in advance! Stay strong everyone!!! :)
  20. This definitely helps! Just like you said, now we know what's needed if we end up having to reapply! :)
  21. Totally agree with you. And in the email it says they have until Septemebr 5th. Even if this goes into August, that doesn't give much time to sort out living arrangements for those of us not in the area!
  22. I have also been placed on the waitlist at UoT!!! There's hope!
  23. Thanks for sharing that! It is really quite intimidating but I guess it gives us an idea of what we need to do if we have to reapply (not that I really want to entertain that idea just yet!). It's really unfortunate that all of these programs have become so competitive. Congrats on your acceptance by the way!
